Gary Trotman seems a bit of a douche! Completely agree and I would even use a stronger adjective to depict that Gary Trotman person but that would be dropping at his already very low level. I won't post in that forum since it would be a big waste of my precious time but since when aircraft in the original Red Baron or Red Baron 3D are "10X harder to fly than the real Aircraft" or are any hard to fly? What puzzles me is that those pseudo-developers don't want to make and seem to dislike simulations but when it comes to using the name of those same simulations they don't have any problem with it and at the same time expect to have the same level of success as the games/simulations that bore the original name by completely changing what made the original games so successful! Weird times we're living in, indeed

For those that missed the highly intellectual conversation with the moderator there…I tried to re-create it here. I'm about 70% sure about my wording in my opening post
Subject: A better chance to make the next Kickstarter successful
Myself and many others at SimHQ passed on the previous Kickstarter campaign because it's going too far away from it's simulation roots. I think if you just took the current RB sim and gave it a modern graphics overhaul it would be a winner. The dynamic campaign was excellent and immersive and is an important feature of the old game. This is what a lot of the community has been craving for years. Too many newer titles we see trying to please both camps…and they end up pleasing neither and are doomed. I would say go one way or the other…either make a full arcade game or make it a full simulation like what made it successful to begin with.
Food for thought…
The Moderator's response: I'm about 90% on this response
I am 55 years old and the last thing I want is some over complicated flight model that is 10 times harder to fly than the real thing. And WELL, THANKS FOR NOTHING on supporting us on the kickstarter…you can take your snobby azz and get out of here.
Then he followed immediately with this one: I'm about 99% on this post
oh…and SimHQ? Well WHOOPITY FCKING Do!..lol
I'm not even kidding on that one…those words were typed by a moderator at the new Red Baron site. My response to his second post was:
Yeah…I'm with ya there. It's just a site that is home to 28,000 members that love flight games…who want's that business…right?
Needless to say…I'm not hopeful that the next RB will get off the ground with guys like that employed there.

Yeah I thought it was about right too. It's a pity I didn't screen-shot it,I sometimes do if I feel that the content will 'disappear' at a later date. I thought your responses were very good btw

I think in his first response/post you forgot his "WELL, THANKS FOR NOTHING" All capital letters.

Yeah I thought it was about right too. It's a pity I didn't screen-shot it,I sometimes do if I feel that the content will 'disappear' at a later date. The pity is that I did take a screenshot…I hit print screen and pasted it in a Photoshop canvas and had it open for hours in the background…I thought I saved it but apparently I spaced it since I can't find it. I thought your responses were very good btw Thanks! I think in his first response/post you forgot his "WELL, THANKS FOR NOTHING" All capital letters. Wow…good memory! That sounds exactly right…I will edit the post of the conversation and put that in. Thanks

Nothing quite like hiring on a 50 year old with the brain of a 12 year old to run your community communication site.

Wow, a moderator returning with personal attacks when none were warranted. How do we really know he's 55? And Peally, I know a few 12 year olds who would be offended by that comparison.

Yep, that was pretty much the exchange! Yes, I can also confirm it! That moderator may or may not be 55 (fifty five) years old but the mentality is certainly below 5 (five) years old. And I say this because my daughter is 5 years old and has a more grown up mentality than that guy, that's for sure!
