I decided to try a different direction with my videos and re-enact historical dogfights. My first pick was naturally the classic dogfight of Hawker vs Richthofen. It was hard to make, but I'm still trying to refine the outcome even more.

A very informative read about the details of their fight from the book DH 2 vs Albatros D I/D II: Western Front 1916 written by James Miller.

I just finished making the Voss vs 56 video. I hope you enjoy watching as much as I enjoyed making it.

I will be away for the winter break, so happy Christmas and new year everyone!

Well done OldHat! Very cool and lots of professional touches used.
Please continue your series if you would.
Voss vs 56 Squadron would be a logical choice.

Thanks guys salute

I'm having fun making them.

I've rediscovered patience while trying to learn something new..... read, read.... 2 dozen cups of coffee..... more reading, reading..... a few choice curse words directed at my computer...... more reading, reading...... rinse and repeat.

Duke, I'll take on the Voss video which should be interesting and fun to make

...excuse me while I go back to talking to my computer mycomputer cuss2

Haha - the work itself sounds like a dogfight, OldHat!
Nice idea!

.

Nice bit of film work OldHat. Well done. In the next one I'd like to see a few more outside flyby shots of the encounters. Adds to the cinematic drama you know. smile2

Nicely done, particularly the narrative. Enough to explain the story to those not already familiar with it but not so much to distract from what's taking place.

I hope he has better luck than I do with that battle, historically speaking. I've tried it twice and each time I knock one down and the other five run off.

SALUTE TO ALL!

Nice video again OlHat. Even a little more polished than the last and that is saying something.
I was happy to see Menckoff (sp) from Jasta 3 finally got some love. His attempt to help is often left out of the narrative.
Enjoy your well deserved break sir.
