Graphics look brilliant, gameplay however... my god are those ships on speed?

It is what it is I suppose and could be quite fun. Shame we couldnt get that type of gfx on a more realistic game though.

Wow....you have to hand it to these "World Of..." guys. No matter what you may think of the arcade like gameplay, they know how to make a game that is fun, keeps people interested, is beautiful, and is easy on your rig. They are going to be around a long time.
With American tanks coming out soon, and now the ships about to be released, I might just wind up putting some money into this game.

I still play World of Tanks. It's still a great, fun lil game that excites me. Looking forward to this!

I tried out the American tanks today in WT. They just seem to get it right. The looks, the sound, the movement. I also rescued my first tank using the tow cable.

It really looks a lot like Battlestations Pacific.

I don't know man. I mean, sure, it looks more arcade than sim. It also looks a ton better than Battlestations. That game was such a let down.

It goes without saying the graphics look much better than BSP which was a 2009 game. But as far as gameplay goes, the combat looks almost exactly the same - ludicrously close range, ships that move like speedboats, no real tactics to speak of. Even the binoculars to zoom in look the same. IMO Naval Action looks far superior to this.

Well, yes it does . . . but they are two completely different genres.

I saw the models, and went wow........ I saw the gameplay videos and my heart sank.

Not for me.

why the hell destroyer command wasn't reinvented or updated to modern spec is beyond me!

I would pay good money for a TaskForce 1942 in 2014 technology.

You and me both Para.

It's such a shame to see such a good-looking game like this, plus War Thunder, that are just 'arcade' games.

Closed Game Test was available today. Played about 15 matches so far. So far, I'm enjoying it better than I thought I would.

Yeah,I popped some gameplay footage from it into here http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4091187/World_of_Warships#Post4091187

I'm not too sure if I will enjoy it though. All of my sea-based simming has been with stuff like TF1942,Dangerous Waters and the SH series, all on the realistic side. What am I saying,I play a lot of WoT and WT,I'm sure I'll love it biggrin
