I have had my Warthog for over 2 years and it has been perfect. I'm with Beans here, have had mine for around 2 years as well and it's been nothing but absolute awesome. I've owned many sticks and this beats them all by a mile.

Reviews indicate its a good HOTAS just over priced.

Reviews indicate its a good HOTAS just over priced. I'd agree with that. I love the warthog but it was a bit steep on the price. I managed to get mine for a similar price three years ago and haven't looked back since. For what it's worth, I did some testing with one of the Saitek HOTAS setups a couple years ago and while I liked it, it felt too light for my tastes. The Warthog, on the other hand, has a good amount of weight to it and feels very sturdy. I've had mine since, well, 2 weeks ago. I never installed TARGET and haven't had any issues with it. For you long time users, am I missing anything by not using TARGET? I only use target for specific games. For DCS, I don't use it at all, but I do use target to run specific profiles for BMS and for the VRS F/A-18 in FSX.

That's my goal for this weekend, get BMS set up the way that I want it. Did the basic stuff just to test out functionality but nothing intense. Anything specific in BMS that TARGET can do that cannot be done natively in BMS?

Love my Warthog, worth every penny, IMHO. It is a bit specialized and can be non-intuitive for aircraft other than the A-10C, but it's still my favorite go-to stick and has never given me any issues.

Anything specific in BMS that TARGET can do that cannot be done natively in BMS? I'm really not sure, I just wanted the easiest solution as far as getting it to work for BMS. Check out this guy's site: https://sites.google.com/a/hodderweb.com/warthog/ I use his for my BMS profile. I had to remap some things but overall it works well and the pictures are great. For what it's worth, my roommmate got the Warthog earlier this year and within a few days it quit detecting the stick. Neither computer would recognize that stick but would still read mine just fine. She contacted customer support and they promptly sent her a replacement and there haven't been any issues since.

if you look at the review closely: http://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-Hotas...mp;pageNumber=115 out of 120 gives it 3 stars or less, it is 12.5%, one out of eight. it means every 8 people who buy it, there is one who is not satisfied or has problems. so it is OK if you are willing to take the risk. and the customer support is not that good. it has been 4 days and I am still waiting for their reply. don't get me wrong, I like the stick, how it feels, how it looks, but I never buy their product again, after paying that overpriced price, I expect the much better parts quality and service than this. so it is true what the other reviewer wrote: " it is a good HOTAS WHEN it WORKS. "

I have this profile from the BMS forums and am using that as a reference.

That is not a valid measure of it's reliability. You are implying that everybody that buys it leaves a review, which obviously isn't true and those with negative experiences are more likely to leave a rating.
