It's currently in the Steam sale (£6.79 here in the UK at least).

Bought it because I liked the tech demo and love when someone brings something new as far as game engine/tech. It's pretty fun, camera can be really frustrating at times... Supposed to be really good multiplayer, unfortunately none of my normal gaming crew are that interested so I can't comment on that aspect of the game.

Love the demo, but now that I went 4k, it won`t let me change the res or use the mouse. And if I can
only the get full version via Steam, forget it. Won`t use Steam for nothing.

I know folks have had major issues and I'm sorry its not a go for you JimK. I'm one of those who've used it since HL2(albeit my online shopping their did not happen until a few years later) and haven't had any major issues.

I could see this selling more copies if they introduced a Military aspect to it. Some people won't buy a sim unless it has a war in it.
Army supply trucks. Imagine a World War Two, 2 1/2 ton truck loaded with supplies for the front. It could be the Red Ball Express. You need to thread your through shell holes, burnt out tanks and dead bodies. You don't get to do any shooting but you need to make it through artillery barrages and minefields to drop your supplies to the troops.
Could be fun.

No, you wouldn't have guns. You'd just be driving through a battleground with some interesting road and navigation problems. Road is mined, for instance. You've gotta figure out a way around it to get to your destination. Just a thought.

I have to say that I love steam now, I too used steam for the first time with half life 2 and didn't make any purchases on it until years later, now I find it a very useful and hassle free service.

Anyway, spintires is fantastic, hopefully some new maps sometime down the line.
