The mission continues... That Tiger must not be repaired. It must be knocked out.
Mortar fire mission may not knock it out, but it will stop them making repairs.
The Rangers keep the Germans busy with harassing fire from bazooka's and rifle grenades...
AT arrives and takes up position on the high ground overlooking the bridge... 'Careful guys, I hear vehicle noise'.
An eight wheeler howitzer has been returning fire on the Rangers in the gully... the AT team engages!
'Good hits boys, she's knocked out... and the crew are running for cover. Now... lets finish that Tiger!'
After several hits the Tiger is finally out of action, the crew evacuates and the Rangers mop up!... Sadly the Rangers have lost a few people in the struggle...
A great little mission, lots of spying out the ground for the best approach etc. That tiger may have had a mobility handicap, but it still guarded the bridge and its weapon systems were fully operational and posed a significant threat...
I was caught out by the arrival of the 8 wheeler, and it caused some significant casualties on the Rangers in the gully and on the high ground to the right flank... still, the main objective was to destroy the tank, and the 8 wheeler was an added bonus, as were a couple of soft skinned vehicles that were discoverd...
I can only say, if you love wargaming and strategy in WWII, then you need look no further than the Combat Mission series of games...
