Some of you might be thinking:

"hmmm, is this a good time to buy?"

To which I say: Stop thinking. Just do it.

Nuff said smile

Just bit the bullet and got one. Stupid sales tax though raised it to $381.59. Still the best price I've seen in a year or so. Going to leave it in the box until I need it, so yes it was just an impulse buy for later down the road. I've barely put 3 or 4 flight hours on my Cougar in the last 5 years. How pitiful that is. Now all I need is some USB rudder pedals.

Cheers,

Uncle

Received my Warthog from Amazon today. Opened the box and inside was another box with a shipping label showing that the it was shipped from Ingram Micro in Jonestown, PA to Amazon. Did a google search on Ingram Micro. Not sure how they got involved but oh well. I've yet to remove the Warthog from Thrustmaster box. Anyway I just thought it was an interesting journey.

Actually, since you have both the Cougar and Warthog you have the best of all possible combinations as far as TARGET is concerned.

You can leave your Cougar plugged in for the specialized throttle and rudder control, and still use your Warthog. For older games that recognize one controller (e.g. Longbow), TARGET will merge them all into a single virtual controller and you can choose to program any and all buttons. You can even include the MFDs in this mix.

EDIT: My "pie in the sky" setup would be the Warthog (center mounted stick), along with a FSSB modded Cougar (right mounted stick) and gameport rudder pedals. And of course the MFDs.

I never would have thought to do that. Thank you Fries. I really didn't want to spend more money on pedals. I'll give your suggested setup a go and see what happens. I'm kind of slow when it comes figuring this stuff out. I guess it's really my lack of patience and my "since it is the 21st century this stuff should be so easy a 2 year old could do it" mentality. I've never actually tried to make a profile in either Foxy or Target so I guess I shouldn't knock it just yet.

Cheers,

Uncle
