Waiting for 2.0 I decided to get more insight into these models to get ready to what's coming.
Now I'm completely confused. Wiki said (see also http://www.theaerodrome.com/aircraft/gbritain/raf_be12.php):

"The B.E.12 was essentially a B.E.2c with the front (observer’s) cockpit replaced by a large fuel tank, and the 90 hp RAF 1 engine of the standard B.E.2c replaced by the new 150 hp RAF 4."

In-game stats suggest that B.E.12 has a 90 hp RAF1 engine and B.E.2c has a 140 hp RAF4. How can this be explained?
Then, what do we see in B.E.2c early in the game stats? It's a a 90 hp RAF1 again.

Now, about what's coming for HD. I suspect we're talking about B.E.12b? A night fighter with 200 hp Hispano-Suiza and wing-mounted Lewis. Or is the wing-mounted Lewis the only difference between the two?

Please someone help me out.

The BE12 data panel is simply wrong; as you say it's for the BE2c, except for the reference to being a fighter, which is partially correct. Mentioned this in my recent mission report:

http://combatace.com/topic/84510-be12-twosome-2-wings-over-flanders-fields/

More significantly perhaps, all the interplane struts need to be moved outboard, approximately one rib towards the wing-tips. Hopefully WOFF 2.0 will fix this, as the BE12 is one of the stars of that show.

Yes it was the BE12b that had the 200hp Hisso. The WOFF 2.0 BE12 I believe is...well the BE12, not the BE12b or BE12a (like the BE12, but with the BE2e wing cellule, ie like an RE8 with short-span lower wing:

Many different armament fits were applied to Home Defence BEs.

PS my ability to nail that Halberstadt in the mission report I take as confirmation that the WOFF BE12, notwithstanding the data panel, has the more powerful motor!

High over the Front
A 200hp Hisso to power a BE12?
Sounds a bit like using a Porsche to pull a manure wagon.

The BE2 was an excellent aircraft in its day and in its assigned role (1914-15), as good as anything in its class. The Belgians later did quite well with their BE2cs, having fitted a Hispano Suiza engine and put the observer in the back.
