Just a heads-up for anyone who's monitoring the topic: EECH Central seems to be b0rked on Opera 12.17, Chrome 38.0.2125.111, and IE 11. Screen below:

Great! But it looks like a server side issue. Something to do with Perl from what I can find out. I'll PM one of the mods to see about getting it fixed.

I'm waiting to hear back from the mods. I sent a PM last week.

EDIT: I've just sent the message again, and included Murphy.

Would you like me to provide a server for this, separate from SimHQ - happy to do it if it means they don't have to worry about doing too much to shoehorn it into elsewhere.

Thanks for the offer, but I think it would be best hosted on here. It went down before as the guy running it didn't keep up the maintenance, I considered hosting it myself but decided against it for the same reason.

I've had a PM back from the mods and they're looking into it.

Fair enough - I've not been bullet-proof in the past myself wink

Glad you got an answer - busy souls these mods! smile

They've got the errors fixed, and are just working on getting the theme back up again.

Just an update on this. I'm working on getting this fixed. I've got access to the files for the wiki, so I'm just trying to find out how to resolve the styling issues.

The wiki is back up, and I've made a few changes.

I've enabled account creation on the wiki, so anyone can register for access.

If you create an account, then use the same username you have on the forums so that everyone can see who you are. Use a valid email address as you'll need to confirm it.

Page editing is also enabled, but you have to confirm your email address first.

I've enabled a nicer editor than the default one, and I'm working on enabling an even better WYSIWYG editor, but it needs some server side changes that I'll ask for.

I do wonder why this message thread jumps from 2014 to 2016. Did we spend 2015 in suspended animation?

Seriously, I have an operational question about EECH having just reinstalled it for the first time in years. How do I do things like toggle the radar on and off without a separate keypad?

Hi, Not sure by what you mean by keypad?? do you have a HOTAS and a keyboard to fly?? let me know what you have to fly with. most HOTAS/Joysticks have software to program keys..

Any thoughts about spam users registering continously? Not much posts by them but still annoying.
I see reCaptcha appear in registration form, but not effective, which unusual. Probably some bug used for user insertion.
mediaWiki can be upgraded just in case, or email verification enabled, or even extra captcha (like math or question) added.

Ah, I hadn't checked that for a while. I can't remember how I dealt with it last time, I think I added the Captcha, so not sure why that's not stopping them.
