If we download DCS World from Steam and then these from your site will they work with one another?

You cannot activate on STEAM stuff you bought on ED Website but the opposite is very quite true.

Well I find this stuff confusing. Guess its just me. So if we download DCS world from ED and then by modules from steam they'll work with one another? If someone explains it to me in such away I can understand there's money to be had by someone. smile

Also, i'm glad you're not mad lol. biggrin

Modules bought on the ED store (such as this sale) are only supported with standalone DCS. The one you download from ED.

Modules bought on Steam can be played through the steam client. The serial keys will also allow you to run the module on the standalone version.

Modules bought on the ED store can however be installed into the steam version, but will not automatically update and is a very large hassle. There are some guides on the internet for it. I did it for a while but in the end decided to scrap the steam version all together and just use Standalone.

Thanks Fudge93 that helps me. If I may another question: I have a hard copy of A-10. Will that only work with the ED standalone DCS World?

Though I have Steam for many other games and am very comfortable with it, its sounding as though I should just stick with ED's site for everything.

I'm not certain on the boxed copy, but I believe that you are entitled to use it in DCS World. Try this page here https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/licensing/

Long time ago i bought a boxed copies of A-10C and BS2. Lately i've been doing some cleanups in the DCS. Got rid of the Steam version and now using a standalone. I used keys from box versions on Steam but was able to use the same keys on my standalone version. I just put them in the licensing page of my DCS account and bound those keys to that account. So i guess every boxed keys can be used in the DCS World.

I have a heck of a time downloading DCS World from their site. I seem to have a pretty good download rate for other sites/steam but it takes for ever getting those six files.

It's a pain as it's slow, but really ED is the better option because there are fewer mechanisms involved. Steam is faster, but there can be more headaches unless every one of your ED titles are bought through Steam.

As of some recent date, if you buy it on ED's store you can't activate it on Steam. However, Steam-bought titles work both places.
The upgrade version of BS2 never has and never will work on Steam, so if you have that the choice is made for you (unless you don't care to use it anymore).
