An american sub has been spotted at a remote island north of us, PBYs are resupplying it.

HQ dispatches intercept immediately.

Airborne

Homing in

Easy target

Wingman covering

Early morning recon flight reports large Japanese carrier taskforce sighted, there are no aircraft on deck?
Meanwhile!

Earlier intel has indicated there could be an attack at any time,HQ dispatches fighter cap immediately.
Meanwhile Fighter ace Hirohio Yamaguchi's fighters are leading the dive bombers.

Bombs away, hah the american's are sound asleep.
Or maybe not?

Hirohio Yamaguchi's flying and scouting skills are legendary. We will bomb the americans into oblivion!
Is this Hirohio? If so, he needs more target practice!!!!!

Boys we are in trouble, the whole island is on fire!!!!
We need more ammo boys hurry!

Fierce areal battle many casualties!

Thanks for bombing my shack!

Give them hell boys!

Woha what a mess, we outta do something here!

Here we go boys!

Scratch an other one!

Intel has intercepted radio message from japanese fleet commander, indicating that the midway attack was
a complete failure, also the admiral informed Tokio HQ that the fighter ace Hirohio Yamaguchi failed to return
from the mission, presumably KIA!

Or maybe not??? biggrin

I sold my IL-2 CDs a couple of years ago. If I still had em, I might just think about a reinstall. The modders sure have been busy. But, then again, they always were. They were about the most enthusiastic modding community around. Can't help noticing that perfectly round engine intake on the Corsair. I saw in some screenshots that my favorite ride, the P-47, got lotsa love, too.
Shoulda kept it.

Yes its the best WW2 sim out there, there won't be anything like it, in the near future.
Funny thing, all Oleg had to do, was bolt on a new graphic engine and he woulda had a new bestseller. pitchafit Didn't happen.
That's exactly what War Thunder did! And look what it became. biggrin

Hi I am using IL2-46 v4122 HSFX7.03,for the water you have to get " CarsMaster Wave File V2 3.17 " mod, after
modify the settings in the water section of the config ini, the clouds are " Bender's Ultimate Environment V.1 "
you can find all this at " mission 4 today " website no reg required to download any of their stuff.
