Can someone explain to me how last gen, Xbox 360's AC: Rogue is native 1080p, NEXT GEN, Xbox One's AC: Unity is 900p? Something just ain't right with the "downgrade" to Next Gen.

Would love to play Rogue on 360, but 60 bucks... No Thanks, not with Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age Inquisition coming out next week... I'll wait till Rogue comes out on PC in January.

Unity apparently is in a rather #%&*$# state, frame drops into the 20s and stuff like that. Not gonna buy it, I'm not really into AC but Black Flag is the exception and it rocks.

Wow! You summed my feelings up for AC too. I played AC 1 a little bit, never finished it. I never picked up another AC game until Black Flag. And honestly the only reason I pick up Black Flag was the Pirate theme. No desire to get involved in the French Revolution either......

Exactly, I bought Black Flag because of the pirate theme. The French Revolution is a very interesting historical subject, but I'm just not interested in the game. I'd consider an ancient Chinese, Japanese, Aztec, Inca or Egyptian themed AC.

my son bought the pirate one used and he lasted for a while into it, but it seemed to have lost it's punch with him.

I started Unity last night. So far I like it a lot. That being said, sometimes it has wow moments and sometimes the frames drop hard and some of the same ol' game quirks pop up that are all to familiar from the earlier versions of the game.

So, it "feels" more next gen to me than Black Flag on the PS4 but it doesn't scream to me truly next gen like the advertisements claim. Not that that is a reason not to get it. If you enjoy the interesting stories and conspiracies and people and historical fiction with a capital F of the AC games you're going to like this.

I hope to start playing Rogue tomorrow. I'm excited about it too knowing that it has the wilderness and colonial locations of AC3 but with the naval combat content of AC4 mixed in.

Going from Black Flag on PS4 to Unity on PS4...i am not all that impressed.

Buildings being open is kind of cool...the huge crowds are kind of cool..the city is much bigger and not as fragmented because you are not split up on islands....

but overall gameplay has not changed much and the AC formula is getting stale...

once Dragon Age, GTA5, and FC4 comes out...this title may end up collecting dust

Hmmm. The longer I play this the worse it seems to perform. It has a lot of good elements but once again like in AC4, the combat has gone backwards in certain respects. Its better than AC4 in my opinion(a little more challenging) but no where near as satisfying as AC2 or even AC1 for that matter. You can't grab and throw guys anymore or pick up bodies.

And the parkour or whatever you call it seems to have been over simplified. Almost anything can be latched onto which if done right would be awesome but its not done right in this case. Its hard to get your character to go where you want. I'll try to leap to the left only to have my character fall to the right into a hay bail that I did not want to go in.

I'll keep on trucking on, I enjoy it for what it is but ubi in my opinion is really dropping the ball with this series. I don't mind glitches but when you advertise a game up and down for years at a time only to deliver something entirely different that's angering to me as a gamer and loyal customer.

They're copping out and being dishonest and/or they just somehow got themselves waaaay out of touch.

They touted to all how this game has been in development for four years by multiple teams across the globe yet they consistently simplify their successive games, remove gameplay mechanics that made previous iterations great and more enjoyable and I can't more precisely control my character.(I've had the parkour system just flat out stop working at times for no apparent reason)

I'm annoyed with UBI's promises and self promotion only to have their golden product be a sloppy affair in reality. I can live with and work with flaws but I can't abide dishonesty. I think there needs to be a purge at UBI corporate and actually hire themselves some folk who are gamers and at least make an attempt to satisfy what most gamers in general are looking for and expecting. Don't they hire play testers? Good grief. If they just gave me a chance(and I wouldn't be payment) I could tell them in about an hour of what's good and what needs to be remedied.

You assume that testers are not catching it....in reality probably more like the Suits at UBI decided that they are low priority and not worth a delay to address those bugs....

As you noted, these are simple things that are easily uncovered.

Makes you wonder what they were actually doing for four years.
