So the wife and myself were having discussion last night and it got a little heated about a random subject and all of a sudden my Ipod touch decided to to put its 2 cents into our conversation. Like, WOW. Had not touched it all day and it was sitting on my desk no more then 3 ft away from where we were talking and getting Siri to respond without ever touching was a WOW moment for sure. She looked at me and I grabbed it to see what what going on and Siri had turned itself on.
Reacting to our conversation and leaving an UN-inteligable response. Was like what the Hell is is going on, never in my life has Siri ever activated without my turning it on. Freaky to say the least.
Anyone else have their Iphone, ipod touch give them a go without activating ?

With iOS8, you can get Siri to work on a device that is plugged in by saying "Hey Siri" Maybe that is what you were experiencing?
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein

Thanks, it was not plugged in and not used all day. just laying on the desk. Went into Siri settings and turned off that feature. And the funny thing about it, was we never said anything like "Hey Siri" My wife is still freaked out over it.

Tell her it's possessed. Too bad you can't rename Siri to "Chucky!"
