The way it works is you load into the open world and have a bunch of players runnign around. You then form a grou with your friends. Then you can travel around the open world doing jobs and etc or launch into a different game type like coop. It then loads you into coop (has to load the mission etc) and drops everyone but your party out of the open world map. Then once you finish the mission it loads you back into the open world until you select a new mission/game mode.

There is plenty to do in the open world though. You can spend days just running around having fun without loading any coop missions or adversarial matches. But you earn a lot more money doing missions and etc.

Well, if the game represented the player as law enforcement, then the game world wouldn't be as open. The only way the conceit works is if you're outside the law in order to have the freedom to go and do what you want to do. Otherwise, you'd still have to be the crooked cop. That would be self defeating.

Just pre-ordered on Amazon for the PS4. I should get it when it's released on the 18th.

I also picked up Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition and COD Advanced Warfare yesterday.

Rapidly building up a nice backlog of stuff to keep me busy on the long winter nights thumbsup

Actually, in Skyrim your character starts off being considered a criminal to the point that you are on death row from the start. Let's not be too judgmental of these so-called gangstas and try to play the game to become legit. You know, like white collar criminals! biggrin

Some of the only games I don't mind paying full price for are GTA titles, they always deliver! GTA III's 3rd person is what 1st person does to the series, glad to see they finally made the jump. I love driving around in GTA games with the cockpit view, listening to music in awe of how much life they breath into the game world. Hoping I'll be able to play this on my current PC when it comes out as GTAIV really brought my system to its knees on high settings.

I've got a bad feeling about this.....

This game is cool looking, I had the last one but it wasn't my cup of tea and I traded it in about 4 weeks later. Visually it's awesome, hated that every damn intersection was an accident because the AI can't drive for crap!

My nephews play MP and have a blast, they're 25 & 19. Do a lot of flying around.
