My crew climbs into their faithful beast for another patrol outside of the base...
A sentry looks out over the area to the south while we exit through the gate...
I alternate between the driver, commander, gunner, and loader stations as necessary, but primarily spend my time in the gunner station ordering the driver where to go...
We head toward a report of an enemy armor sighting and carefully assess the terrain and our approach...
We depart the hardball short of the area of operations and look for a good place to scope out the area...
We try to stay concealed or at least in positions where we can rapidly reverse into cover...
Contact!
On the waaaay!
While I have my attention on the cluster of units, I don't spot an enemy MBT lurking to our north. Our tank gets rocked by an explosion as the enemy round impacts and we bail out... Not a very successful attack!
I order up an artillery barrage as we retreat on foot back toward our base...
At base I grab the reserve tank and head back out...
Creeping through the woods...
Contact again - on the waay!
Using the coaxial on the infantry feels like bad sport..but better them than me...
Heading back to base after clearing out the area to the south...
I had no intention on picking up ARMA3. But then I see the Helicopter mod. Still manage to fight the need to hit that buy button, but was tempting. Now this! I'll wait and see if more missions come out. ARMA2 was not a good single player game, but this looks as though it might be.
"From our orbital vantage point, we observe an earth without borders, full of peace, beauty and magnificence, and we pray that humanity as a whole can imagine a borderless world as we see it, and strive to live as one in peace." Astronaut William C. McCool RIP, January 29, 2003 - Space Shuttle Columbia
I don't think there is any harm in taking the wait and see attitude. One thing I really do like about ARMA3 is the Steam Workshop integration that makes finding and trying new missions pretty painless. Some of the user created stuff is really good. Some of it is really bad. You just have to pick and choose and pay attention to the ratings and comments...
Guys. How does the Armour in Arma 3 compare with SB I have watched some videos They look good but do the handle realistically. I know some guys are working on mods to improve them. Getting a new rig soon and I am seriously considering buying arma3 just for the Tanks Not really interested in anything else in arma
There is really no comparison. SB is like the DCS of tank simulations. ARMA3 is fun, but it is no Steel Beasts. In ARMA3, the graphics are phenomenal, the sounds are very good, and the gameplay is fun (in that sandbox kind of way), but when talking about tank physics, systems, and real strategy - I think SB Pro is the way to go.

Thanks for the reply's guys, It a shame it lacks any fidelity as a armour sim the terrain detail is amazing. If they ever make a dedicated armour add on I will buy it.

How is that? Is easy to get new missions and mods installed If I get ArmA3 on Steam? I'm just waiting to see what they will do during the Thanksgiving day offers.
-Sir in case of retreat, were we have to retreat?? -To the Graveyard!!

Yeah..if you use Steam Workshop it works seamlessly with your ARMA3 install. So you go browse the Steam Workshop, and if you see something that looks cool, you hit the Subscribe button and it downloads into your ARMA3 install and it is (usually) ready to go.
If you liked Arma 2, you'll love Arma 3 as it does the same things with a nice polished and optimized feel. If you disliked Arma 2, you probably won't enjoy 3. It's a combined arms sandbox game with a focus on infantry, not a tank or a jet simulator
