Mod that adds Russian and US forces into ArmA 3 was just released. Some might say it's old having Russians VS. Americans in a game, but I'd say it's still better than futuristic conflict ArmA 3 currently has.And anyone who played original OFP might remember addons by Red hammer Studios which were top quality and still are.

a few bugs still, but the russian stuff is pretty darn nice cool

The US stuff does seem somewhat "heres someone to shoot at" though.

Agreed. Which is a shame because the models and textures look oh so nice. While what they have currently is certainly impressive, I hope the US side gets some more love, very soon.

Does it have a campaign with it too?

Well...the voice acting wasn't top quality, but the rest was. smile

From their https://www.facebook.com/redhammerstudios]FB post:

Missions. We ran out of time on this one and are not able to deliver a set of missions that we are confident would reflect the type of quality we would want to deliver. However, may mission makers have had access to our alpha build and have been independently producing missions with our content. Expect to see them shortly. We have also teamed up with the producers of the hugely successful King of the Hill game mode to produce a special version of KOTH. It will also go live just a little after the MANW submissions close.

So it doesn't sound like a campaign is ready yet.

That's one way to read it. You could also argue it sounds like they're just not going to do one at all, because they don't want to hold up the release for it but don't want to put them out later either. Hopefully they will still release it later, like BIS did with Arma 3's campaign.

Well, I think the release was pushed along because they wanted to get in under the wire for the Make Arma Not War contest according to the threads I've been reading. The deadline was 2400Z or something last night.

They've got Colonel Stagler, who's one of the best mission developers in the community as their mission honcho. This guy basically redid the entire OFP campaign for the CWR2 mod a few years back. I'd say they'll get around to it.

I would say that the Russian stuff is definitely worth giving a go on the server. While I like the American vehicles for the most part, the infantry is very much just a place holder.

i'd still say wait a few patches anyway, by the sounds of it they were a little rushed to get it out by the deadline

I think if given time, US infantry will get some love too. They worked on Russian infantry for long time, starting back in ArmA 2 days, and results speak for themselves.

Will these new helicopters have rotorlib flight models when it is released next week?

I would assume that RHS would have to program those in, no?

Everybody gets everything they want. I wanted a mission. And for my sins..they gave me one.

as far as i've been able to tell, it wont have rotorlib or firing from vechiles till AFTER they hit stable branch, due to them not being present in the make arma not war competition build.
