I've tried, and as an example, in my last effort, I hit 8 out of 500 shots at some EIII's. The gun is low on the left side, and there is a ring and bead sight out there as well that is virtually unusable, so I'm wondering if there's a way to tell where the bullets are going? from my seat, I can't see any tracers, so if the bullets exist, they're below my line of sight. I've switched to an external view and did wee some tracers leaving the gun, but I've been sniffing the rudder of the EA and seen nothing come off them. And to be that close and only have 9/500 hits tells me that something odd is going on.

F6 when it's working might get you there, but for me, view switching goes out during the mission for reasons I don't believe we have ever locked down...

The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

Hopefully Lederhosen will chime in. He has 24 kills flying a BE12 in the DID campaign so knows how to put bullets on target!

Last time I flew some BE12 missions about a month ago F6 worked for me and gave a good sight picture.

I like the BE12 as its a sleeper in its heyday. Faster than both the E.III and the Halberstadt D.II but can't turn or climb with the Halberstadt. So its best game seems to be "Boom and Zoom."

But will let Lederhosen or RAF28Jenkins offer their advice as they have almost 60 victories between them in a BE12 in DiD!

I won a VC flying the BE12.

Judging by those screenshots, that's not close. Once the enemy's wingspan is outside of the nearest cabane struts, then you'll be getting into firing range. At that point, similar to the first screenshot, align the wings with where the forward cabane struts join the fuselage. If you are close when you do that, you’ll hit them. Or, as Bucksnort said, hit F6 a few times until the view changes to the ring/bead sight.

Salut

I use TrackIR, so I actually have to lean over to the sights to fire. If I'm realy close then I move a little to the right and put the Hun a little off center to the left. problem with the f6 is that your target moves out of sifht very quickly and then your constantly changing the f6 view till you find him. Not a problem with the EIII but later the Albs are a real problem...with no externals.

I had an HA give my guys in Jasta 2 a difficult time, Augustus Henry "Orley" Orlebar is what my pilot log claim reads, hope I didn't misspell his name.

He suckered them into turn fighting and had some looping turns in his bag of tricks. I came down to help them and was amazed at how much lead that bus could suck up and still fly that well.
