Howdy submariners,

Re-installed SH 5 on the weekend, only to find myself stuck in a Uplay nightmare. I simply can't remember the account I had created upon the SH5 launch and the email account I used back then has been closed.
No worries I thought, let's create a new account, nah nah nah

Uplay keeps telling me the serial code I'm entering is linked to a different account.

And so I decided to stuff SH5 and return to SH3. Lost the actual disk ages ago but got a free copy on Steam yep Never installed it.

Here is the question. What is the best mod for SH3 in terms of graphics and realistic gameplay?
I would much prefer to avoid a complicated mods soup, I always got myself into serious trouble with SH5. Maybe 2 or 3 mods max, all happily compatible with each other.

Is there such a thing ?
I did a quick visit to subsim after a 2 year hiatus, for some reasons all these fine fellows have decided to only communicate in Swahili by now.

Cheers,
Slug

I reinstalled SH3 last week.

You can try GWX3.0 gold (That's the one I prefer, and the only one I have currently running)
http://www.thegreywolves.com/gwx3/

or Living SH3
http://www.lsh3.com/

or tons of others... wink

GWX is the way to go for SH3, i find it almost better than SH5, especially when it comes to this scripted mission thing in SH5 - having to sink six giant troopships in a row to be promoted, lmao.

There is also a good german U-boat mod for SH4, then also able to run german Monsun boats in Indonesia and worldwide.

And a lot less hazzle than with this SH5 UPlay online bull, i gave it up because my account info seemed to get lost every 1/4 year, and every new install i had to adjust the mods again. And again. And ... dizzy

SH3 really was the breakthrough, in the submarine sim genre. Still waiting for an update for a modern sim like Dangerous waters, or something like that though.

Have fun !

Last time I bought a uplay title they said it wsa a pirated copy and locked my account. I still have not managed to get them to fix it even though I have a hard copy of the game sitting on my desk. Wont buy any more ubisoft games until they dump uplay.

I would also recommend GWX if going the SH3 route.

Recently I did a German career in the Atlantic using the Operation Monsun mod for SH4. I posted some patrol reports in the Naval forum.

Reinstalled SH3 last night and did a quick test before including GW3.
I was instantly sent back to 2005 or so ! Darn, SH3 really left a strong impression on me back then, I felt 10 years younger with all these sounds and images rushing back.

GW3 tonight biggrin

Cheers,
Slug
