Well, SoftTH can "trick" your game into thinking you have one big monitor. If you had 3x 1920x1080 screens, SoftTH can make it look like you have 1x 5760x1080 monitor.

I've got Eyefinity. I can verify that unlike Rise of Flight, this sim does not like triple screen gaming. frown

Casual gamers, the target audience for BoS, don't have triple screens, don't know how to tweak their graphics cards, can't be bothered with more than two difficulty settings, etc, etc, etc...

there is an underlying theme to all this.

And yet 1CGS thinks casual gamers will enjoy a WWII flight sim set on the Eastern front. It is the most bizarre business model I've ever seen. Its absolutely schizophrenic.

My triple screen setup is working fine. Running in portrait mode, 3600x1920.

I'm running 6052x1200 in Eyefinity with bezel compensation. The views are off-centered and skewed.

This post works for me http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/11784-little-triple-screen-solution-ati-user/

Using Eyeinfinity I get just the same screen as depicted in this post

I tried it with eyefinity, black screen. I'll try this trick SkullBiscuit posted.

The funny part was that before the whole preset thing it worked well. So they did something with the whole preset thing that screwed up the triple monitor setup.

That's not quite triple screen...more like one and two separate halves screen.

What they did with the presets was force feed post effects to everyone and those are not compatible with wide setups in BoS or RoF. The problem starts at about 4096 horizontal resolution last I tested, so the quite popular 5760 x 1080 resolution is affected. You get really bad resolution due to internal upscaling (this is caused by the post effects) and a distorted image with non-centered focus (this is a new thing, don't know what causes it).

true....but this is a work-around that provides a facsimile of triple screen capabilities -- center view is enlarged while you get some peripheral vision action

My only complaint with this kluge is that it does nothing for screen tearing -- V-synch does not work here

And a benefit of this arrangement is being able to have other system monitoring apps open and viewable right outside the BoS window (on both sides)

Interesting observation. Post effects are based on rendering to a texture first, then applying effects using that texture, and then rendering combined picture onto the screen.
Now, DirectX 9 specification requires a GPU to support texture sizes up to 4096x4096. However this is a minimum requirement, and most (if not all) DirectX 10 and more modern cards (DX10 requires 8K textures to be supported) allow to use 8K textures in DirectX 9 mode.
So it shouldn't be a limitation really.
It is more like they are doing something wrong.

Is there any way to disable post effects in the driver or use some kind of software to rip them off, are they a specific enough set of functions that something like that could be created? Suitable registry keys etc.?

No, post effects cannot be disabled from outside, they are part of the game code.

It might be possible to modify shaders to get rid of bloom or SSAO for example, but as I understand right now BOS doesn't support mods at all, and I don't know if shader source code is available (it was for ROF, that's how I did terrain bump mapping mod, but they could have removed it for BOS), and to be honest I don't care about BOS that much to look into it smile

I wish they would introduce an advanced mode so I can specify res as well as aspect ratio... frown Any ini mods to do that?

Still no multi-screen resolutions? I'm having fun with this game but being restricted to a single monitor really lessens the immersion factor.

I've managed to run it at 3840 x 1024 on my 680GTX with 3x 25" ASUS monitors, looks okay I guess. Just started trying all the listed 3 screen resolutions, be nice if proper support was added.

Might test it again: Triple monitor working

Edit: If confirmed, a moderator might have to change the thread title wink
