Have been giving it a thrashing on a long haul flight, and think I will do a review for SimHQ on it; there are enough differences to justify it.

pros

- skirmish mode, endless single player replayability with great range of options
- more air power options including ability to establish air domination
- more complex objectives
- greater variety of unit types�
- improved graphics
- partial damage to units exp armour (though ability to repair should have been included)
- ability of units to use smoke
- more sophisticated line of sight rules

cons

- single player still feels more like a tower defence game than a combat AI game. Enemy units almost never advance to retake an objective if you leave it undefended, and in any mission where you need to advance to take objectives, the design still centers around the map makers hiding heavy units (tanks, AT guns, MG crews) in buildings, behind hedgerows or corners. I've learned to live with these things, but I would love to see the AI try to flank me, just once!
