Wow what a find. Another paragraph of WWII history can be completely written.

Amazing condition that boat is in. Could it be raised and exhibited I wonder? Perhaps not as all crew perished and therefore it would be a war grave site.

Always amazed at the low standard and lack of research of some of your News broadcasts Stateside. Particularly the female ones. We have attractive women too on our channels in the U.K., but they do seem to be chosen for their perception, intelligence and ability to commentate as well as their looks.

Apologies if this offends anyone across the pond.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Ah ok. My mistake. Can't believe there were stories about 2 different U-Boats on the same day!

I just checked Stormtroopers original post and I was actually half right. He posted links to both U-571 and U-576.

Sonar operators were stymied at what the signature was until a passing deck hand spotted the image on the screen. He then claimed his record for tonnage sunk in the type was nine times greater in Silent Hunter IV.

The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events.

Maybe divers will also find UNC's reputation off the NC coast. It also sank.
