I just re-installed the Wolves of Steel mega mod,and it requires me to use the TDW patcher and brother,I can't work it out.

Here are the instructions http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=4298 I can't make it past Step 5.I don't have the Steam version.

I did install this mod before but I just can't seem to figure it out this time around frown

I have no idea how to use a snap shot thingie. Would look up just getting the generic patch to work. Which is pretty much.. Down load. unpack to a folder. Run the thing. THen set paths. I do recall scratching my head on one of the paths it fought me all the way.

I am conservative on mods. So I focused on just a few core things.

And that seems to work in that order.

Yepp, installing that one is rather complicated, did it myself about four weeks ago, right after buying SH5. Worked on the second attempt, if I remember correctly.
Having read so many comments on vanilla SH5, and scared by the prospect of wading through gazillions of individual mods to look for fixes and improvements, a Mega Mod is the only realistic alternative. But even then, this one already requires three different installation methods for the various components it incorporates...

Well its now mid 41 for me. And things are starting to heat up just a tad.

My last slaughter running threw a the middle of convoy using T3 electric torpedoes resulted in what appears to be half the RAF looking for me. Seems they wanted to give me some torpedo love. That and earlier a Mosquito came out of no where and dropped a bomb on my head when leaving France.

Forgot this one....

A couple of these ones collided while circling where I dived.

Ok air craft are getting annoying. Getting rather good at shooting them down.

This guy and 3 of his friends attacked me while leaving port. 1 shot down, this guy damaged and another dumped his bombs rather close to me but came threw it ok.

Another victim of my duel flak 30's or maybe they are flak 38's. I cant tell.

Well its now DEC 12, 1941. You know what that means. Yes, time to show those swing dancing yankee scum the full power of this fully armed and operational battle under see boat.

As Germanys highest tonnage sunk U-boat ace (er 27 war ships and 130ish merchant vessels destroyed), well the BDU gives all the latest gear.

Yes the giant rubber condom covered U-boat is mine for the commanding. i could actually take this much more yuck talking about seamen. But that might be to far.

Well hit a snag on the black pit campaign. Unsure exactly what is going on. The objective to to sink inbound and out bound convoys with wolf packs. Of which you have like no control of. SIGH working beacons and some sort of player controlled battle plan would be nice.

So the mission and I think it is an OH2 one. Is to meet up with a Uboat with problems and take over its shadowing a convoy. OK did that. Send radio messages every 4 hours, check, done. BDU assigns a kill zone. Right following... 6 or so Uboats show up around the kill zone. GOOD. Get message I am clear to get in a position to join attack. And here is where everything falls apart. Done this 2x now. Plot a course to flank the convoy and get around it to the front. About 14km out or maybe more. Zipping around at flank. Mean while the wolf pack attacks ON THE SURFACE and gets pretty much wasted. 1st try no ships where sunk by the pack. 2nd time 1 ship was killed by the pack before its shelled and depth charged to death. And no progress on the mission bar.

What I suspect is going on is the wolf pack is retarded and is copying what I am doing.... flanking around on the surface. I naturally assumed it would be smart and just get in position in the kill zone at depth. Anyone that has done this mission, what am I doing wrong?

Crew bringing over some compressor or something to the disabled Uboat.

Another great mod brought to life. Admittedly haven't done much with SH5 but seeing all of this and the fact that I have it on Steam, makes it tempting to re-install again. Thanks for sharing.

Well not a clue why the kill bar was not filling on Black pit, triumph of the wolf pack. It was giving mission join wolfpack S and then this last time was wolfpack W. S never filled the mission bar. W did. Go figure.

Well its November 42 now and I am sitting off North Africa. Something about Torches =). At any rate, the US Navy appears to not be messing about.

And some really strange Wolf pack idea of how to get in close to a convoy..

A Dido light cruiser on its way to support the torch landings. I think he is going to be late.

An acoustic Falke torpedo chasing a Middleton assault transport I did not fire at. biggrin

After the 5 minutes of chasing said transport.

US navy depth charging nothing. I am way back there by the burning ships. biggrin

While selecting torpedoes for the next sortie out, one of my AAA gunners when nuts and fired at the U-boat pen roof. biggrin

And on to 1943.

My new VIIc41 boat. Finally a 37mm flak gun. biggrin All the bells and whistles, new radar, better hydrophone, and a not so good radar detector.

Vanilla game I never got so far. After Mare Nostrum I wanted to drown myself in diesel fuel. SHII mod certainly makes the mission objectives less annoying. But still things can get a bit dull at times. Ah well.

So took my new boat up Saint Pete's way and give the new flak gun a go.

Ran into him, or he into me.

Yep it works. Just a really wimpy firing sound. UGH.

And then my game crashed quite oddly..

Trying to get out of the Gulf of Biscay without getting jumped by air craft. It did not work out.

So dive yet again.

Ya, that's totally normal....

Got sick of diving all the time and this flying boat paid the price. Pretty much one hit with the 37mm and its done.

Nearly impossible now to not get an air attack while leaving and often entering port.

Water is so shallow that bombs are still vary lethal if they get close enough.

Air craft are also flying different attack profiles. This here Sunderland is damned low.

Heavy bombers have been staying out of AA range and dumping bombs for the past year. Fighters are now screaming in dropping a bomb, often before I have any chance to dive. Its starting to get bad out here...

That sunder;and came in low and popped up for an attack run. Of course I knew he was there so did not end well for him. Might be that I am running that new radar. Or super watch officer with unreal spotting ability. biggrin

HMMM I should also say that the wreck of the flying boat also hit me and destroyed by propellers. LOL had to reload from a save as there is no way to repair destroyed bits with real submarine damage.

Trying to get out of port again...

Not sure what he thinks about all this.

And I got struck by 2 annoying fighters while exiting the Gulf of Biscay. Cannons on the broad side. Wrecked everything. Well this last go was me angry at air craft and trying to fight them off. I did shoot way more than historically possible down. But ugh try 3 of get out of the gulf of Biscay will have to be legit. Only on surface at the darkest part of night. All I want to do is get out to sea. UGH. biggrin
