I like the current better. But if the new is closer to reality in June I am ok with that.

I'd suggest hanging on to the immediately previous set of textures,
for use as late august-september. No reason to be limited to one
season is there?

Any chance of having the option to keep the current textures? I think I prefer them over the new, greener ones.

Excellent. I don't recall seeing any announcement
of that posted in this forum. I suppose I may have
missed it, but I don't think so.

And from a previous update:

"feature request 1 the serious one! Do you think it will be possible in future to have a full patch (including also previous patches) instead of incremental? (is it possible to overwrite previous patches?)
this would help newbies and lazy people getting up to date! And since the more we are the better...
also an autoupdater could be a great idea to have more people."

Yup. That was detailed in the last update. An auto-updater is in the works for v5.00 and it will update any version to the latest

Cheers, MP

Dear 1C.
Please hire these guys and pay them double normal salary.
I'll buy 3 of each upcoming theater until I retire if you make this happen.

the new scenery looks very good, and i base this on what i remember from living in SE England for 5 yrs

one of the most impressive changes as part of this new color scheme is how the distant aircraft stand out more realistically against various types of vegetation/scenery, giving much more realistic spotting/tracking distances.

has somebody in TF also been working at improving the hedges (as map objects) for this new map version ? (the hedges look better now). the lack of extensive use of hedges was always a weak point in the original SE England map (they had to be added manually by the map makers, and iirc oleg/luthier stated this was to time consuming)

Be advised, we got zips in the wire

Yes, the texture painter on this mod has manually been adding the hedges smile

I think it would be a good idea to make some hedge object's, say 50m in size some straight, some curved made up from various tree and shrub types, that could be placed in FMB. It may be possible that these objects will then be hard, and so you would not be able to fly through them...we have that ability right now in the game, to take various objects and combine them into a single placeable object with the grandfathered DM qualities of a component....just thinking out loud here but I did suggest this to Luthier for use in WW II, he tried it and was amazed that the hedge single object although large in length, had only a slight hit on the system resources.

Post composed with speech to text, it woks grape!

That's how building clusters are done in bdg
BoB2 patches. Somehow the system treats 20
houses fused as a single object the same as one
house. This lets lots more objects be placed
on the map, but you are limited by the fixed
relative positions of the component parts,
which is especially a problem on sloping ground.
You'll find the same thing - hedges are easy
on the flat, but on a slope, they will stick out
and float in the air. I don't know if there is
a way around it. Each object has one mounting point,
and it is typically set at ground level. A group
object is generally made assuming flat ground,
and all keys off that one mounting point. For
special one-use objects, you can build in the slope
for their placement, but you can't do that all
the time, because you'd take forever to do it,
and each of those objects would have to exist
as individual items to be loaded, so the overhead
would get back to what you had with individual objects.
