The Teeth of the Tiger was, I believe, the last book actually written by Tom Clancy in the Jack Ryan universe.

If the title on the cover says Tom Clancy in giant letters and then another author in tiny letters, it was totally written by the tiny letters guy. If you have read Clancy over and over like me, the difference in writing style is like night and day. I read one or two of those co-written works and they weren't bad, they just didn't live up to the quality of Clancy.

Thanks. I've found that "Teeth" is written by Clancy, but is the first of the "Jack Ryan Jr." books. I guess I don't have much to lose by giving it a shot, though I refuse to read anything marketed as "Tom Clancy's _______" or where he shares writing credits. "Tom Clancy's Op Center" taught me that lesson.

Let us know how you find Teeth of the Tiger. I know I read it and remember the basic premise, but it's been a while.

Yeah the co-authored books are like reading the Brian Herbert Dune books versus the Frank Herbert books. But I have to admit I did read the co-written books or I wouldn't be able to make that statement. I didn't find the latest books terrible but you could tell it wasn't Clancy.

I've got a bad feeling about this.....

don't jump at this one, Jack Ryan Jr isn't even in it so far, it's about Dominic Caruso. Very difficult to read, so not a "Clancy Book"...

I liked the "Campus" stories, way better than Op-Center books in my Opinion, just the last book I posted was difficult, but the last 3 were good reads.

I've completely cut myself off from Clancy's works since about 2005. I just can't think of one that was good since then.

I'd put the cutoff in 1995. Debt of Honour was fine, but He just seemed to go into pure wishful thinking with Executive orders.

Oh, I was meaning that was the last time I read his work (save for HfRO, which was on a bundle sale with RSR), though I re-read RSR recently.

I have to disagree. I'm about 60% through it, after three days. Good to have all the familiar characters about. Can't wait to see what will happen to those nasty North Koreans...

I finally just finished it on Tues, it did get better in the 2nd half. I didn't realize it was just going to be about Dom for the most part. I like when the gang is all there. You only had Albright, Dom and the chick, not that many familiar characters from the other books.
