I used Palemoon (creation of some ex-Firefox guys) for quite some time and SimHQ hanged my whole system for like 10 seconds when I tried to open it there. Honestly. Now I'm on Chrome and it seems to handle the site pretty well. Although today's gremlins made things hairy even for Chrome.

.
SimHQ forums are the worst in terms of load times and hangs. I have tried Chrome and IE and Firefox and it does not seem to matter at all. Unresponsive pages and/or failure to load at all are now every day occurrences for me. Too much traffic is part of the problem along with far too many streaming ads. I hate the ads, despise them actually. I try shutting them off but every time I click on a new page they come back.

I use MSM premium, and it was just fine until the "NEW MSM" came on the first of October.
Gone is the startup page that took some time to build, and the new MSN is "non workable" ( at lease by me ).
I am looking for any browser that will let me build a startup page that has all of the "stuff" that I need to view each morning.
Also would like some advise on free security programs.
Thanks, in advance for your thoughtfull responces.

A little help for the "old guy" please!! Browser's I use: MS Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox. Mostly Firefox. both can do what you want based on your requirements you outlined. I use Microsoft Security Essential because it has such a small footprint but it is far from the best out there. Kaspersky in my opinion is the best bang for the buck and very easy to use, and not intrusive on you when you are on the PC. That being said, other may choose to differ on opinion, although there hasn't been any opinion other than mine offered so far! Best Regards;

Thank you Robert!
True, but sad --- your voice has been the only one.
I will take a good look at all of your suggestions.
Thanks again
