First the Z10 from Blackberry tanked and now the Amazon Fire joins the club,

Markets are unpredictable. I doubt there's much wrong with the Amazon phone, and it's not like it has a problem Blackberry has - that they may go out of business and you'll have an orphan device, so it seems odd that it's selling so poorly.

By all accounts, Windows Phones work very well, but it's not selling well either, even though they are generally less expensive than their competitors.

I think it's all about perception and recognition. People got familiar with phones from Apple and Google/Android, and other phones just don't register, no matter how well they might work.

That thing has received some really bad reviews and it is way over priced. That is not much of a war as it is a massacre caused by stupid generals.

Entirely agree with this point. Those two jumped on the smartphone concept quickly and capitalized and as a result they dominate the market. Up to now, every other company that has attempted to compete has been squashed.

The Fire was a terrible phone, the only thing it did well in comparison to other Android phones was scan products for lookup/order on Amazon, otherwise for other phone/camera features it compared really poorly and was more expensive than other Android phones.

I own a couple of Kindle Fires, and I was in the market to upgrade phones and looked at Apple, Android and Amazon and that Fire phone was a stinker... so it failed not because of Apple or the lack of advertising but because it sucks.
