CDC told her multiple times she could fly:

Too much money for bombs, not enough for infrastructure. Heck, no surgeon general for quite a while. Spells disaster.

It's not really a surprise she was told by the CDC she could catch a plane. After all, are we not allowing passengers who originate or transit through W. Africa to fly here to any of our international airports which the route goes to ? Surely none of those passengers would have Ebola would they ?

Right, because the only reason Obama didn't order all air traffic from or through West Africa banned from landing here is because he has no Surgeon General. He doesn't listen to his Joint Chiefs, why would he listen to the Surgeon General?

The instant this outbreak was verified, a complete ban on travel from West Africa to the US should have been enacted. West African or American aid worker, you're staying there until the outbreak is 100% burned out.

1. To the extent possible, halt all passenger travel to the U.S. from those 3 most affected countries or from transits through
2. Any Ebola cases here must be taken to one of the 4 U.S. hospitals which are more prepared then others to take ebola cases
3. Ensure that those hospitals have all the materials and other support they might need
4. Help to stop Ebola in the affected countries (already being done)
5. Find out how much top CDC personnel like their jobs

Well, if it's easy to do, why aren't they doing it? This has been around long enough that someone should have stockpiled it for a weapons program.

Good list Hag. Now why can't this administration think that clearly ?

Well, why haven't we talked about it before ? Maybe they were plotting other things and this just hadn't come to mind.

I didn't say it was easy, I just said it wasn't very difficult. Provided you were willing to risk it.

If you want to jab at the administration, I think I already mentioned the lack of a Surgeon General, who could help things out a bit one would think. You don't read my posts, though.

thanks Oldgrognard ...here's an interesting article and this from it:

-- On August 28 WHO released their prediction for 20,000 cases within 6 months
-- using data from WHO, Econometrics expert Francis Smart has predicted that if the Ebola virus does mutate into an airborne form, 1.2 million people will die from the disease
--According to the director of the WHO, Margaret Chan, there is not a single hospital bed available in Liberia for any newly infected individuals. Facilities are at full capacity, and resources are exhausted.

Pffft.

Are you seriously going to suggest he isn't capable of doing the job? Are you suggesting that he isn't doing the job?

Of course! He's acting! He stayed at the best western last night. wink All I know is that Texas' free-market based health care system is way better than Liberia's!

Do you suppose they'd be concerned if they set it loose
and it swung round and infected their own part of the world?
Would they care if it took off and killed 90% of the planet's
population? Perhaps there are other philosophical slants whose
adherents would be keen on saving the environment with a
surgical amputation of the human plague?

"Of course" what exactly? Of course he isn't doing the job? Of course he isn't capable of doing the job? or what?

I get the impression with your "best western" reference that you are attempting to refer to the old Holiday Inn Express commercials.
