I posted this early on, and hope my request is honored.
Is Slick Wilhelm the lucky medal recipient?

MudWasp, you are an honorable fellow! But even if I am runner-up(doubtful, anyway), I could not accept. I want to earn it the hard way, by hacking Rick's PC and adjusting the scores! hahaha

cheers

Just checking in from the road as I've been traveling nearly nonstop for the last two weeks and won't be home until this coming Friday night. Congratulations MudWasp on winning Rick's final challenge, well done! And congrats to Slick Wilhelm and Rover27 on placing in the top four. Great job everyone!

But let me understand this, none of you wants the original WWI US Victory Medal I've offered as the prize?

If I came in 3rd, and IF MudWasp insists, I would be thrilled to accept such a prize you have so graciously offered. But if I came in 4th, Rover27 should by all means receive it.

I know in the great scheme of life we are all only custodians of our possessions in our life time. Sometimes we come to the conclusion that it is time to pass something on to others to enjoy. I suspect this as part of the motivation behind these prizes and with that in mind, If you have earned something you could reasonably accept it, enjoy it for some time, and then pass it on to another who would appreciate it. That being said, MudWasp has earned it and if he sees fit to suggest it go to next in line it would seem reasonable. I think Rick should make the call who next in line is on this matter IMHO.

Best Regards to all

I'm not the score keeper, but from what Rick posted...You're the man with the prize. Slick.

I like to look at the Taube print when I fire up WOFF.
Hope you find such inspiration with that beautiful medal.

Robert, I desire that another enjoy what I have from flying a Challenge.

Apologies for any misunderstanding on my part as concerns the prize. I have been far too busy and travel is keeping me away from home and when I checked in yesterday evening it had been a less than sunny day in nearly all regards. At that point as I read the comments posted what I was seeing was:
"Well I don't want it, give it to the next bloke."
"Well I don't want it either so pass it off on someone else."
I realize that is not what was being said. So, once it is decided here who the medal should be sent to just let me know in a PM and I will get it packed up and in the post when I get back home this weekend.

Happy flights all, it's another 18-hour day of driving and service calls across the ice plains and oil fields of North Dakota for yours truly.

Geez Lou, It would seem you could really use a set of wings or a chopper on your job. At least it would be something you could really enjoy on your way to those stops and you wouldn't have to deal with any traffic!! Just you and the blue! On the down side your company would probably not be too happy with the trip tic if they pay mileage!

I have been incapacitated for a few days and just now catching up on everything. Congratulations MudWasp. I would love to see you fly first hand and learn a thing or too. Thanks again Rick for these fine Challenges. It has been great fun and a learning experience also.

On another note, where else but on this forum can you get a bunch of folks passing down one of the finest prizes to date in my opinion, thanks again Lou, because they had already won another challenge. Ya'll are the best and I am just happy to be here!

I am now back home for a day and can get the prize packed up and in the mail but I have not received any info as to who to send it to. Slick, you are to be the recipient of the medal as noted in Rick's latest post here so if you would send along your mailing address in a PM I could get your prize in the post.

For now, off to do some more mapping whilest I dream of Zeppelins and Gothas and Home Defence squadrons.

Cheers!

^^ Hahaha! Robert, you caught me. It's true, I often grab my old baton and conduct the music I'm listening to while on auto-pilot. A Mahler symphony or a good Broadway show can't go un-conducted! biggrin
