Do the search lights cast shadows?

Yes, nights are dark now as they should be, but the moon can make them brighter.
No shadows from searchlights for now, sorry, but they do illuminate their targets nicely.

Indeed, or moonlight, but of course we added cockpits lights to the Gotha, thanks to Andrey's superb lighting additions!

You guys are killing me. Can't wait to fly this work of art myself! Meanwhile, my current WOFF and CFS3 installations seem very dull by comparison. Excellent work!

Holy C..P......these are drop dead gorgeous!! I do mean drop dead as I'll be outside looking at the visuals, no doubt, when the bad chaps arrive en masse.... And the flecked sea looks right on the money.... Do planes cast shadows on clouds yet or is that for another day?

eek Are there any games which have this feature?
Well, there are some ideas about improving clouds, but not now.

If your monitor is calibrated properly you shouldn't need to fly with brightness up. You will see at night to fly it's not total pitch black.

Some crazy looking screenshots! Btw, I don't remember if we had cockpit lighting before... I haven't tried flying at night yet. Do you think other heroes of the night (like BE2 HD, etc) will be equipped with this feature? Or is it only Gotha? And what about the Görtz bombsight?
Thanks for sharing and good luck with whatever you're doing

There has always been a simple default cockpit lighting which comes from the same position whichever craft you are in - which basically blasted everything with an orange light.

However now we can have different types of lights with several features coming from the actual light fitting etc. Probably only Gotha will have the new lighting for now.

Longed for years to see this in a flight sim:

Glory. Not the Pour le Mérite kind, but the optical phenomenon kind: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glory_(optical_phenomenon) Beyond further atmospheric realism, keep that little rainbow/shadow on or near an enemy plane while attacking above the clouds and you are absolutely coming out of the sun.

Nice Gotha shots! Awesome.

For night flying, I fly at night in a darkened room so my eyes adjust wonderfully on their own. It'd be great to have a workshop option for red "night lighting" on all the menu screens, etc, to preserve such night vision. I imagine that'd hardly be a priority. Just thinking aloud.

In any event, thanks for all the screenshots, been looking forward to the Gotha for some time.

Interesting, will keep in mind. I don't know whether it is possible to add or not, but I definitely expect a lot of questions if people see it in the game. I don't think it is widely known phenomenon smile
