I haven't flown a jet since wearing out Falcon 3.0 many, many years ago, and of it I remember nothing!

So I finally decided to try out DCS World and also purchased FC3 for a survey view of things to decide if I still like being a jet jockey.

But the training videos are a bit dry and I had read that at one time the training missions were interactive in the Lock On series. So I picked up a copy of Lock On Gold at my local used game store for $5 and installed it. Lock On Gold has the original LOMAC plus Flaming Cliffs 1.1 (which I also upgraded to v1.12b).

Then started it up and got trianing videos!

Does anyone know how far back I have to go to find interactive training missions:

1. Just LOMAC
2. or LOMAC plus Flaming Cliffs 1.1 (without the update patch to v1.12b)

obviously my install up to the Flaming Cliffs Patch v1.12b has turned into training videos, so thought I would see if anyone knew which version of my installation options would provide interactive training missions before I go through the re-installation excercise of trial and error. The videos say "Press CNTL-Q to take control of your plane now" but when I do it just drops back to the main game menu.

From what I remember, FC1 has full training missions. You might need to download them though...

Turned out it was user error on the first mission. I had let the mission time out reading the text and couldn't go interactive. So all is well and I've got most of the interactive missions available for v1.12b but there are a few that say only available for Flaming Cliffs v1.1 so will reinstall without the v1.12b update patch and be able to fly them also (will just use a separate install and keep my v1.12b for gameplay as I guess it has some bug fixes).

I'd recommend upgrading to FC anyway, because I'd the differences in the avionics for the Russian birds.
