First time in about 3 or 4 years at what is my most local airshow due to a mix of other commitments and crap weather. Glad to say the 2nd day of the show saw some lovely late English summer sunshine.

The Red Arrows opening proceedings

The Blades putting in another polished performance

The Catalina

Royal Navy Sea King doing a winch demo

RAF Tucano in its Poppy livery

Hawker Hurricane solo

An ex-RAF Jet Provost, that had a bit of a moment on day 1 of the show

One of only two Hueys based in Europe

One of two Lynx displays, this being the Royal Navy Black Cats solo

P-51 Solo

The second Lynx display, this time from the Army. And probably their last ever as the type is due to be phased out completely by next spring

Arguably the stars of the show, the BBMF and Canadian Lancasters together (probably for the last time ever at a European show)

Back to RAF present and the Eurofighter Typhoon

Two Cold War classics, the Canberra and the Hunter

Royal Navy Merlin

And to finish off, the Avro Vulcan

Lovely shots made even better by the great lighting. Well done thumbsup

PS/. What's all that blue stuff in the background? I don't seem to get any of that at the airshows I go to frown

Yeah, the skies freaked me out too! Even got a touch of sunburn on one arm, which is unheard of for northern England in late September. I picked the worst of the two days at RIAT so think I was owed getting the better of the two at Southport (the day before was filthy apparently).

Cheers for the comments all.
