Yeah wish it wasn't so pricy, more people could try it then.

I was on the fence for a long time due to the price and could never get the free version to work for me, and one day I ended up buying it after reading some of the reports of it on AVSIM.

Thankfully I've been pleased with the results, better lighting and shadows and a framerate bump, and the developer puts out regular updates to keep making it better and to work with new scenery.

Of course $35 is a lot to gamble on without knowing whether it will work well for you or be worth it to you.

I took the plunge but have found it a mixed bag. Still get alot of flickering tiles over water which is very annoying. Some things undoubtedly look better though.

Hi all,

I never heard about DX10 Fixer before. And then just about 4 days ago I came across DX10 Fixer when asking a question in Goggle, about frame rates in FSX. I read the reviews and a lengthy article about installing DX10 Fixer. From what I read it sounded like a product that would allow my graphics card to do what a graphics card is suppose to do and to free up my CPU to run FSX in better fashion. So I purchased it for just over $29 dollars. Installed DX10 Fixer and made no changes after the install. I went to an airport near a medium size city where before the install I could generate 25 fps while taking off in an IFly 737-800. With the installed DX10 Fixer, I was now generating 34 fps. There were no stutters and the landscape, instead of popping into view, was now gradually appearing as it naturally would as you get closer to a far away object.
So far I have only encountered one plane with frosted canopy when in virtual cockpit view. It looks like there are many tweaks to use in DX10 Fixer if one encounters problems. I have been visiting all of my favorite airports and using my favorite aircraft and only the Microsoft F/A 18 has a frosted canopy in virtual cockpit. All of my payware aircraft and payware scenery looks very good.
I am getting frame rates at 25 and above even when using Light Bloom and ground shadows. I am using dense scenery with every thing maxed, except for water which is at Low X2. The only other FSX fix I am using is, Bojote's automated FSX Tweaking & Tuning Service, which is a must for flying FSX.
Even with DX10 Fixer, my frame rate drops to 15 when flying a big jet into large cities and large payware airports. Smaller aircraft do much better because they fly slower. I suppose if I reduce a few sliders in FSX I might be able to get my big jets to stay in the 20s down low over large cities and large airports.
Needless to say, I am very impressed with DX10 Fixer.
Just upgraded my video card to EVGA SC GTX 750 2GB, and with DX10 Fixer I am getting around 25 fps at most medium size and large airports. I have also unchecked ground shadows and light bloom, and I have aircraft traffic set at 25. FSX is now running where I always hoped it would with no more tweaking. Finally!
