1967, model at least. Original survivor car, like-new condition, low (like new) mileage would be around 80k if it had a good package. A lot more for some packages and combos, a lot less for others. No one cares much about a V6.

Oh, I don't know about them all sucking from 70's and through the 80's. I loved my '78 Firebird. I'd love to have a Z28 from those times. All decked out with the ground effects, wild hood and graphics. Also wouldn't mind an IROC with a 5.7 and 5 speed. A girl I knew in high school had one her dad ordered special. Not fast by today's standards, but still a fun ride. Power was certainly down during that time, but not as much as people think. More than emissions, the way power was tested and reported changed. Test the 60's muscle cars by the same standards and they'd look pretty weak too.

Ah yes, who can forget the 1980 Dodge Challenger, with a blistering 0-60 time of 12 seconds...
A dark time for American muscle cars. Yeah, but everybody knew it was actually a re-badged Mitsubishi 4-banger. Same for the Nova brand, never understood why they did this. My first new car was an '87 Dodge Colt, really a Mitsubishi something-or-another, I don't remember. Sometimes I preferred the Mitsu version (Eclipse, 3000GT) and sometimes the Dodge (Conquest). +++++++ The Stone Mountain Auto Museum had a '67 (I think) cherry red Camaro convertible, was a favorite of mine as was the Tucker. But I hear they closed the museum, shame.

The Mustang II was a Pinto-based travesty... And this was my first used car, a '78 4-banger with half a beer can replacing the power steering cap. Truly a travesty. ++++++++++ Maybe Moses will grace us with more new Camaro pics or video??? The exhaust one was pretty cool.

The Mustang II Cobra was cool. Not many of those though. The Mitsubishi version of the Dodge Conquest was the Starion. The Conquest TSi was one of the meanest looking cars of the 80's. The Starion looked a little too much like a B scifi movie car. LOL Those first Eclipses, even the base one, were a lot of fun. Still odd there were 2 more versions with the Talon and Laser.
Remember the Dodge Daytona Turbo Z? Another fun car with the turbo, but not really much for handling.
Then the Regal T-Type/Grand National/GNX...so many cool cars of the 80's.
What were we talking about?

Thanks for the link! I read the whole site. I can only assume he still owns it. I think we all fell in love with that car. IMO the ultimate Camaro.

I actually had one of those. Actually, I don't remember mine being a "Turbo Z," but it was a turbo. It was the first car I bought after moving to California (I had been driving a '78 Ford Fairmont that was rusting out before that). It was a few years old, but it was nice to have something a little sporty. I drove it for over 160,000 miles, and it was having all kinds of problems, like the head liner falling down, the power steering pump leaking onto the exhaust manifold and smoking, the electrical system shorting out or something, dimming the lights and reducing power. I traded it in on a used Plymouth Laser, which was the same as a Mitsubishi Eclipse. It was a fun car - 16-valve intercooled turbo 4.

My first car was a 1969 Chevy Camaro bought at the Philadelphia ship yards from my shipmate. That car was heavy, built like a tank and with a 350 auto used lots of gas. Good memories.
