There's nothing here Mace.
I refuse to buy a flight sim that I have no interest in playing, on the off chance that MAYBE someday they'll make the one I really want to play.

Ah. And that's why I never frequent the bottom of the page.

I'll be honest,I don't participate in PWEC that often and just recently I've been thinking about having myself voluntarily 'banned' from there but then I would miss out on some really interesting posters that frequent it. I've always got on really well with Mace.I'm not sure what he's going through right now but maybe he will return one day.Stay safe fella

Mace registered with SimHQ in 2005 I'm betting he'll be back to CH at least

don't go to PWEC if you don't like alex jones, war, guns, or right wing policies. As I type this, 5 out the first 10 topics in PWEC have NOTHING to do with any of the above.

Look for me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Tic Toc...or anywhere you may frequent, besides SimHq, on the Global Scam Net. Aka, the internet. I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.

don't go to PWEC if you don't like alex jones, war, guns, or right wing policies. I interpreted this as meaning the poster believes in Alex Jones' preachings. In which case, he's right. If you believe that crap, you're not going to do well in PWEC, or any intelligent discussion forum.

Wow. I didn't realize I felt that way about world events. So nice for someone on the other side of the world to inform me. I get the "need" for PWEC around here, but I still consider it a disease on our online home. The delete button would do the same job. Do people go to government conspiracy sites to discuss simming? General gaming? PC hardware? Scifi? No they don't. How about a nice invitation to go talk on one of those sites instead of housing that crap here? I like Mace. I like a whole lot of people here. But I don't want to get into politics or religion with anyone that I don't have in front of me. It just doesn't work. You have to see the person as a human being rather than text on a screen to be able to talk about those topics and be able to agree to disagree out of mutual respect. Often on the internet, you can learn just a little bit too much about a person you like and you can't justify it without knowing them in person. Why can't a PWEC regular start up their own forum for those discussions... away from SimHQ and not referencing it...that people can be referred to instead of having that crap here? Why we can't have Motorsports here but we CAN have PWEC blows my friggin mind.

All that because people were simply asking for him to source a reference to substantiate his claims. And still never offered even one source or link to substantiate his position, even after being asked dozens of times. What does that tell us? It tells us that he knows he must conceal the sources of his information because they can be torn down and debunked with ease - in other words, he knows the basis for his beliefs have no credibility. I really can't understand how a person would continue to believe something when he clearly knows the basis for that belief is a lie - to the point where he has to conceal that basis from everyone else. Believing in something you know is wrong because it satisfies some emotional need to be "different" is the basis of all conspiracy theory. These people do it because it gives them a vehicle by which they can feel "smarter" than everyone else and thus elevate their self esteem. That's precisely why calling their beliefs into question provokes an emotional response - because their beliefs are tied to their emotional well being. They need them because a large part of their self esteem is based on them (more accurately - based on thinking of themselves as being "enlightened", and everyone else a "sheep"). An attack on their suppositions is therefore an attack on their self-esteem, the result being the post in the above link. In short, these people don't believe what they believe because it's rational, they believe it because it serves and emotional need to be better than others (notice how someone who believes in one conspiracy usually believes in many conspiracy theories?). So when reason and logic come knocking, you get displays like what we saw in that other thread. Refusing to substantiate your claims, concealing the sources you base your beliefs on, then dropping a big ad-hominem bomb and running off when your back is against the wall and everyone's asking you to provide proof is not the action of someone who knows their beliefs are sound. Those are the actions of someone who knows they're wrong but refuses to admit it because those beliefs are tied to his self esteem. It's truly sad. Pathetic even.

I actually think these discussions are better in anonymous internet forums because people are more likely to profess their true beliefs when they're safe from social consequences and physical confrontation.
