Sold the Amigo I mentioned not long ago in less than a week. Met the buyer in Memphis and had a night out with the wife. It went to a very good home (their 5th Amigo). Sad to see it go, but ended up with an opportunity to buy another Miata--better yet, my Dad's. I've loved this car since we got found it for him a few years ago. Just about perfect, my favorite body style and color combination. I've enjoyed my '96 M edition, but the NB has always been the one I fell in love with. So we're back to 4 cars, but I'll be selling the '96. Maybe this time I'll get the fishing kayak that was my intention before. LOL I just love looking at it, not to mention driving it. Shifting in these cars is a joy, the best manual I've ever driven. Spent some time detailing over the weekend, but haven't gotten to polish and wax yet. The wife and I are going to have to figure out a Fall weekend getaway to take it on.

My brother has the same model, just Cobalt blue.
I flippin'love it. And so he does. And so does his girlfriend. I considered stealing it from him.

I never liked Miatas until my Dad got his first, a '99, silver with tan/black interior. Gorgeous. I was hooked after sitting in it and driving it. The NA is fun too, and a lot more retro, which is cool, but I love the NB's. The red and black has always felt like a baby Viper RT/10 to me. LOL I love the curves, a great ride and it just feels like a lot more car than it is. But still nice and basic. Nothing to distract you from just enjoying the drive.
Does look like a Crepe Myrtle is growing out of it. LOL They're spreading like weeds!

I always find it strange that in small cars there is often so much space under the hood around the engine, like it's too small, and then in large cars where there's more room they barely seem to fit...

When they dropped the barn door headlights on the early ones, it freed up some space. The '96 is a lot more cluttered under there. The older one when I first got it, before it was cleaned up: The trunk on the older one has more space though, since they moved the spare. Much deeper.

Nice car, looks like it's in great shape. They really are a blast to drive, and on top of that, pretty easy to wrench on yourself. I got myself a 99, 10AE last year as a summer/fun car, and I feel like 20 something again when driving it. Good times

Nice!
I drove a 2002 NBFL 1.9l model (titanium grey with brown leather, yummy) for 6 years. Great car. And you`re right, the gear box is the finest I ever drove.

Niiiice. Congrats. I know what you mean about the fall weekend getaway. Before we had kids, wife and I would take my '97 up to the mountains, put on hats/scarves, crank the heat, and just cruise. Nothing like a cool fall day in a convertible. I prefer the NA, but I would not hesitate to drive a NB. The NA was retro before the whole retro car thing was a thing. The sparse, cozy interior always made me feel like I was climbing into a Sopwith Camel. I go to a lot of auto auctions, and I'm always on the lookout for a decent older Miata. The last few I've looked at have had automatics. (which is probably why they ended up at an auction)

Really nice rocket RK. I remember the first time I saw one....I actually turned around, made a 'U' turn and followed it, to see what it was. They do look good on the road. But I found I couldn't afford one......so.....I still drive my '93 Stealth in the summer. Take care of it and it'll last a long time. I never park in the sun, if I have to I put a reflective cover on the front windshield (protects the dash). I don't drive it in winter, so it still looks, and runs, like new, with 150,000 miles on it. I suppose winter driving won't affect you, but Michigan winters are tough on vehicles. Anyway....I still remember that little rocket I saw that day hope you enjoy it.

Nice! My brother just traded his twin to yours. He drove it for at long time and in excess of 160,000 miles. Was a tight, fun car and owed him nothing!

I can't believe you park your cars on the lawn, real classy!
J/K nice rides, I'm a big fan of Mazdas after buying a 06' 3, great car and very sporty. Miatas won't work as a family car so two seaters are out for us.
I've got a bad feeling about this.....

I had a '96 Eagle Talon AWD that was literally the most fun I've ever had in a car with my clothes still on.
In the next couple of years, I will be in the market for a new toy. My wife has told me I can get a little sports car if I keep it within reason. I'm torn between the Hyundai Veloster or a Ford Focus hatchback. I'm not about to get a Mustang or a Challenger simply because every one I've seen has a girl behind the wheel.
The Veloster just looks like it's going a hundred miles an hour sitting still.

(Warning: Very biased opinion from Ford guy): Get the Focus, with the sport package (4-wheel disc, select-shift transmission or manual). The Veloster looks better. But the Focus drives like the Veloster looks. Beware though. If you get the Focus with select-shift automatic, it will feel a bit weird, but that's because it is a dual dry clutch "automatic manual" transmission. Any klunkiness when driving slow in parking lots will be forgiven the first time you downshift for a turn. An amazing automatic for an economy car. Hmmm. Focus ST could be considered "reasonable" JMHO, YMMV.

We're having to do some shuffling, but the yard was a better backdrop than my cracked driveway.LOL We got the '96 pretty cheap as it was kind of a project, so it was car #3. A 2 seater works when your kids are a little older and you have an Accord as the back up car for the few times I carry more than just 2 of us. Now we have 4 and not nearly enough room until I get the 96 sold. Neighbors probably think we're running a used car lot. Nice Stealth Murphy! Those are hard to find these days. The closest I got to getting one was my Avenger ES in '95. It had that aggressive look, especially in black, but it was way underpowered compared to the Stealth. Helped me get my wife's attention when we met though. LOL
