I was looking for a good used 780ti or two but now that the new 980 is out it makes no sense. The problem is that the new cards are priced lower than the used card prices. The lowest price for a used 780ti I have seen is $660 and because 980 can keep up with and sometimes beat a 780ti why should anyone buy used for a higher price.

I am in the same boat having bought two new 770's last year and within the week, after new cards came out, realizing I will have to sell for half or less to upgrade.

Because of he new marketing price of the 900 series owners of previous cards are taking a big hit if they need to sell. I think some, if not most, will do as I will, keep my old cards and buy a new 980.

lower retail prices is a good thing, drives everything down.

Give it a while and things will adjust accordingly. If people have 780s they actually want to sell, they'll have no option but to lower the asking prices.
