So I guess I need a PC game controller to play FIFA 14 (yeah..I still have World Cup fever..) - I haven't bought a PC game controller for a decade. What am I looking for?

I have yet to find a game that is not compatible wit the XBOX 360 controller for Windows:
PS3 Dualshock 3 with the MotioninJoy drivers (http://www.motioninjoy.com/) are good. PS3 controllers are bluetooth, so you should be able to play wirelessly. If you don't have bluetooth on your PC, you have to be plugged in.
The only thing that I have found that is funky is that if I even unplug my controller from my PC, it automatically turns on my PS3.
I also have a Logitech F710 that works pretty good.
PS: The only reason I used the PS3 controller is because I didn't want to buy another controller. If you were to buy one for the sole purpose of playing on your PC, a Microsfot controller might be the best way to go, although it kills me to support that

The 360 controller is pretty much the standard and very well made. However. The wireless receiver is not, no idea why that is. I think I'm on my 4th one. If interested, I have a Razer Onza, which is wired, that I can sell you for $30 plus $5 shipping. I do not think it's quite the quality of a MS standard 360 controller, but still not bad and has tension adjustment on the sticks.

+1 the controller has been awesome but at least the older versions of the wireless receiver for it has a miniature fuse that wears out causing it to stop working, but if you are handy with a soldering iron, there is a simple fix to the problem by soldering in a piece of wire to jumper both sides of the fuse:
I did that fix to mine 4 years ago and it has been working fine ever since.
