The AIM-9B was designed to go after bombers, the later 9's were for going at fighters. So any fighter kill with a 9B is like getting 5 out of 6 lotto numbers.

That would be like having eight 50 cals. on my Sopwith Camel while flying with in WOFF!

Only if those .50s usually jam after the first bullet is fired and their weight is such that the Camel can barely manage straight level flight, unable to climb or losing alt in any turn.
