Hi all, I need a new keyboard. I tried a Logitech G710+ but it was broken out of the box and there is a 12 page thread on their support site about broken keycaps. It has MX Cherry Browns. They also have a new one out in a couple of weeks with MX Cherry Blues. I have not been able to test a Corsair K70 with browns, I did not like the reds. I have also read that a lot of people are having trouble with the LEDs. I would like back lighting, macros, some form of audio control. What are some suggestions for something mechanical, durable, and won't break the bank?

Thanks - I'm really on the fence. I have probably owned about $2000 of Logitech gear over the years and this was my first disappointment. I have trouble paying over a $100 for a keyboard anyway. I think I may wait until the G710 with the blue switches comes out so I can test the action. I worried about trying another G710+ because there is a glut of refurbs on eBay. The Logitech forums say that there was an internal rev fixing the problem but it is hard to know what I would get.

*shrug* I've been using my G15 for several years now without complaint, but it's not mechanical. I don't care about that.

If you don't need any gaming stuff, then WASD Keyboards is the way to go in my opinion. Wonderful quality, tons of options for customization, great customer support. I have 3 of them and couldn't be more happy, robust, functional, no nonsense gimmicks. (also no macro keys or anything like that).
When you're feeling sad, just remember that somewhere in the world, there's someone pushing a door that says "pull".

I use a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Mechanical, and no problems so far from me.
I use it as a straight KB though, so I dunno about any extras. I have the same one. It's great. I would buy it again.
