FH1 was a pretty damn good open racer, my biggest beef was the teenage racer theme, but supposedly that "story" type mode has been removed or minimized for FH2... instead it's a pretty awesome looking arcade + open world racer... based on my readings of pre-views... anyway, downloading the demo right now... I always love the rival modes in this series.
you can also pre-order but be prepared for sticker shock... the regular, base game is of course 60 bucks... but then 2 other versions, the ultimate being 90 bucks OUCH! better be worth it M$!
I must say the weather, rain, is awesome! Racing is pretty standard. The first race was a cross country or whatever, Pretty much killed some grape fields in France. It was awesome!
Im not sure but I think its an online open world, in other words if your not in a race but just driving around others are there too. Only reason I say this is after my first race I was in free roam and the first two cars I saw had names above them and the dumbasses drove straight at me.
Still got that teenage rave theme. But your main host is a guy instead of a girl this time. Same 3 radio stations. I kinda wish you could customize your driver, he kinda looks like a douche.
$60 for base game which gets you a day one car kit.
$80 for the Deluxe, which gets you VIP and the Day one car kit.
$99 for the Ultimate which gets you the VIP the Day one car kit and a car pass(six monthly car kits)
One thing to note is if you are a VIP for Forza 5 the Horizon 2 VIP is 50% off. I think you had to by the VIP digitally for Forza 5.
So with that I think Ill go standard edition since I am probably getting the VIP for Forza 5 this Friday.

[Re: Magnum]
Good video comparing the XBone and XB360 versions of FH2:
XBOne version looks great and has lots of civilian traffic, but the XB360 looks worse than Forza Horizon 1, it looks like to keep the framerate up on the XB360 they removed the civilian traffic during the race which is my favorite part, risking the pass and avoid hitting oncoming traffic. Seems like the studio who did the XB360 version didn't get it working as well as T10 did with FH1.
I was considering picking up FH2 on the XB360 for now, but after seeing that I think I'm just going to wait until I buy a XBOne, and stick with FM4 and FH1 until then.
Congrats to those of you who will be playing this on Tue, looks pretty fun on XBOne
