If I want that much cheese I'll buy a few wheels of Gouda.

A fantastic show that I always thought more or less "got it".

You sure do feel better about the world after watching that, compared to the last 2 Bale Batman movies. Dark and moody does not necessarily mean "better".
I watched every episode when I was a kid. I loved it. Going for laughs instead of making it a serious crime drama was pure genius.

I also think it is neat that they had real serious, powerful actors just begging to be on the show because it was so much fun.
Who can watch Batman and Robin scale the side of the building and not smile?
Yvonne Craig....Batgirl won't ever be done as well...
I won't even mention Eartha Kitt.
The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events.
The 60s Batman series is currently shown on the Independent Film Network and I have to say it doesn't hold up at all. Even with the nostalgia factor it doesn't satisfy.

No but you can also over-do it with the campiness. "Guardians of the Galaxy" imho is a perfect example where comedy and drama were well-balanced.

The thing that works for me regarding Batman 1966, is that they knew they shouldn't take most of it too seriously given the comedy styling. The show will seem to lampoon itself and love it as much as I do.
A far cry from the few early 1930s and 1940s Bat Man comics I've read, but really not much further a stretch than modern dark Batman styling where he uses guns. I saw a promo picture somewhere of the new Batmobile in upcoming Batman/Superman movie, and it's got guns again. I suppose a fist-fighting crime-fighter just doesn't have a comfortable place in the present day Hollywood action trends anchored in gun violence.

That's why Batman has all of those neat gadgets instead! He's like James Bond with a cape.
