Thinking about starting up again the weekly S3 events, SimHQ Saturday...hell I can't remember what I had the 3rd S stand for, lol... and now since I'm not an admin or planner here, using the SimHQ title is probably wrong, along with the fact not happy with the direction or lack of direction SimHQ has taken under new management... but anyway...

I'm thinking a Forza Motorsport 5 get together on Saturday, 9/20 around Noon Eastern, or 1 PM Eastern... the earlier the better for our European drivers, I think I have 8 friends who have FM5... I'd say 3 races...

1. Indy Cars at Long Beach.... say what 10, 20, 50 laps?

2. S cars at say Road America... say 10 laps.

3. R cars at say Mount Panorama... 10 laps.

I don't know.... not a sure thing... feedback on interest, times, classes, tracks, laps?

I like it!

1. I hate long beach....but Indy cars would be fun. 10 laps would be good.

2. Perfect.

3. Maybe do a V8 Supercars at Panorama? 10 laps.

Another thought would be Indy cars at Indy Road course for 15 laps and then 35 laps one the oval.

Another thought could be one track but 3 different classes. Example would be Road Atlanta with race 1 being A class, Race two could be S class, and race 3 could be R class.

How many of you guys have wheels and how many are just using a gamepad?

I want to get the Thrustmaster TX but wont have it for awhile. Would be tough to compete against guys with wheels if i only have a gamepad.

gamepad... and until M$ or Fanatec makes a good wheel for Xbox One and PC... will stay Gamepad... don't like it but oh well, blame M$ not me. wink

I think all but one friend drives with a pad.

There's a better chance of FM5 Coming to PC than there is of Fanatec making an XBO Wheel.

Gamepad. Would love to use a wheel but not shelling out that kinda money when I have a G27 I could use.

Wait does the G27 work with XBO?

Well, according to their website the new ClubSport Wheel Base v2 will be next gen compatible with optional wheels in the future:

No Logitech no longer supports the xbox as far as I know. Bummer because I have a G27 too.

The Thrustmaster TX 458 supports the PC and the Xbox One. I'm thinking of selling my G27 and my DF GT to help pay for it. It's supposed to be an upgrade over the G27 and the wheel is swappable.

Darrin Gangi from Inside Sim Racing raves about the Thrustmaster TX being used with FM5.

Hard to take the Thrustmaster TX 458 seriously with just 2 pedals and the light/flimsy rim it comes with, seems too toy like for me...

Still hoping Fanatec or Basherboards comes up with some way to use existing Fanatec wheels with XBOne.

TX looks good. However it would be cheaper for me if M$ made other wheels compatible lol!

I like the fact that the TX has addable parts, 8 speed shifter, 3 pedal set, and the F1 wheel but damn that makes it almost an 800 USD setup for just the wheel setup. Take the F1 wheel out and its about 600 USD.

Cant really justify that purchase for basically one game.

+100

Yep, lots of us "bought a Fanatec wheel for Forza4" fanatics left behind by Microsoft's XBOne wheel nonsupport decision.

Sad too because ISR Darin Gangi says Forza5 FFB is terrific with that TX wheel, I'm sure it would be great with Fanatec too.

$60 Adapter +$10-20 for USB Wireless Gaming Receiver for windows (Which most of us have already I think,)

Lil bit of software tuning and tweaking and save yourself $300-$800.

Which is exactly why I want it. Yes it'll be more expensive than some alternatives but I can upgrade the wheel and pedals at a later date if I'm not happy with them.

yeah dont forget about the F1 wheel too.......

I like that its expandable but I can't at this point in time justify spending that kinda money when I got a perfectly good G27 laying around. I might be able to justify it in a few months though lol
