OT... guess that get together won't happen, no one likes playing w/o a wheel in MP...

anyway...

I got a invite to buy early, still waiting for more info, the true price, and a secret code I get...

but my Q. will it work with the XB1, something I've been very disappointed with from both M$ and Fanatec, 800 bucks for a wheel/pedal set and not next gen supported... BUT, will this be based on one line in the description...

The new ClubSport Wheel Base V2 has many exciting new features!
Brushless servo motor for about 75% more power
No cogging (notchiness) at all. Nothing!
Optimized belt drive with ultra-low drag for a much wider spectrum of fine force-feedback effects
Super durable construction with a new cooling system, more and bigger ball bearings, as well as completely new sensors and electronics
DUAL HALL and DirectSensor technology with more than double the resolution
Multi-platform! Upgradeable to next generation gaming consoles when paired with optional steering wheels (in development)
Choose from a large selection of wheel rims of all popular racing styles. 11 models and growing!

I'm hoping.

I got an email about it, But even with keeping my existing pedals.

But I cant for the life of me see how my Pedals/Shifter will connect to that wheel with RG4/5 when they only have PS/2 or USB Connections... So I’d have to Upgrade from the crappy shifters to the Clubsport Shifter.

So:
$599 USD For the v2 BASE, -$100 if I Pre-Order
$50 USD For the Table Clamp
$200 USD For a Mid-Teir Rim,
$200 USD For the Clubsport Shifter SQ, (the One with SQ Adapter, Saves $29 for not having to pay $79 for Paddle Addon.

Not to say anything about the Universal HUB/

Plus Shipping, Plus VAT.

Looking at $1100, to get an operational Wheel, if it even supports XBO.

Yeah that is crazy talk $1100 for a XBOne Forza wheel...

I'm done with Fanatec, bought their wheel for XBOX compatibility and it turns out their partnership with Microsoft was not a strong one after all.

Still hoping Thrustmaster comes out with a version of the T500 that is XBOne compatible, it would be awesome if the Thrustmaster had a wheel with 3 pedals that did XBone + PC + PS4 but I bet Microsoft wouldn't allow them to support the Sony stuff, maybe that is why Fanatec lost their parnership? the Fanatec wheels supported both consoles and PC.

Going to wait to let the XBOne wheel market mature a bit and also to see what wheel support PS4 gets (supposedly PS3 wheels can be supported by the games when the games come).

Same for me!

Looking at a still perfectly working Fanatec CSR Elite wheel + CSPv2 pedals for 750€ without any future use on my xB1. mad

$50 Adapter + $20 Xbox 360 Receiver for Windows will solve that problem for the most part.

TBH, I dont use FFB for anything but Centering on Xbox Games. FM3 and 4 both felt like glass regardless.

For Forza Horizon. I rarely used the wheel, as it was simply too crazy to try and keep up with AI and Wall Riders, it was easier and faster to just use the controller and drive it like it was an arcade racer, even with the Forza Physics.

To be honest, buying the Thrustmaster TX wheel is only, in part, for the XB1. It still should be an upgrade over my G27. Yes, I know the G27 has a separate shifter and a clutch but, frankly, I've gotten used to just using the paddle shifters without a clutch. Plus, I know there are people that actually prefer the TX over the Thrustmaster T500, which is even more money.

I may or may not upgrade the pedals and rim down the road. I'll just have to see how they feel.

But, I really HAD to have a wheel for FM5. I just can't enjoy a racing game without a wheel anymore. The only other viable option was to get the cheaper Thrustmaster wheel (with no FFB) for $100. But, once you go force feedback, you can't go back to not having it. Well, at least I can't.

Looking forward to trying it tomorrow. But now I have to break down my XB1 setup and move everything over to where my current Obutto seat/wheel setup is.

Cool LeemzHQ, congrats, you'll have to let us know how it compares to the G27.

I'm still looking at when I get a One.

I want Horizon 2, I want Halo collection, etc, i Want FM5 Prologue smile.

But I'm counting on FM6 being a more complete game and will likely ship with a Fanatec XBO Wheel.

Clubsport Base 2 will require special rims to be compatible with XBO

The only way I would buy an XBO is if FM6 comes with trackday, allows AI to run your custom cars and has a full weather system.

Well, early impressions of the Thrustmaster TX wheel are positive.

The physics of FM5 don't quite compare with any of the PC sims I have (iRacing, rF2, R3E, AC, etc.) but the wheel works as advertised and it's light years better than using a damn gamepad.

I don't think I could recommend a $300+ wheel just for FM5 unless your a racing junkie and you don't have a PC but if you're into PC racing as well, like I am, then this is a nice upgrade (feel-wise) over the G27, if you don't mind not having a clutch and a dedicated shifter. I haven't used the shifter and clutch on my G27 for several months so I'm very used to just using the paddle shifters. The wheel offers very smooth, very strong FFB. I had to crank the intensity of the FFB down in iRacing because it was really giving me too much of a workout.

I'm not crazy about the pedals. The G27's feel better (or maybe I was just used to them) but these slide around a bit, I'm gonna have to find a way to lock them down. And, although they advertise a progressive brake, I didn't feel it. It just feels like a firmer version of the gas pedal. I may opt to buy better pedals down the road.

All in all, a nice upgrade over my G27. But, I'm a tiny bit disappointed that the physics in FM5 aren't a little better. I drove the BMW Z4 in FM5, iRacing and rF2 and the FM5 version didn't feel much like the others at all. Still, it's a fun "simcade" and I don't regret the purchase.
