if you want to play try http://falcon-online.org/forum/index.php but for test/error-tracing and you're somehat GMT+1 like a horrible Swede like me I can host this evening and serve a TS (or we could just harass some IRC channel if you're uncomfortable talking in engrish).

Falcon/BMS multiplayer howto:
http://www.krauselabs.net/dump/Hosting-Falcon-4-BMS.html
incl. video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hfwn-JQIqkM

Tunngle should be ok:
http://www.tunngle.net/wiki/index.php?title=Network:Falcon_4.0_-_BMS_Mod&oldid=31671

Edit:
I think the hosts have to allow connections in the Windows firewall, too.

Another try. I'm hosting for years for my squadron and these are the main showstoppers:

- your pc, when hosting, host must have a static IP in your home net, otherwise
the port forwarding in the router would "point" to the wrong PC. Check if the ports
are open.

- host enters 0.0.0.0 in the comms window as your IP. Your router will transmit all network packets
because of the forwarding rule.

- the client must enter your "outside" IP. You can check for example with:
http://www.heise.de/netze/tools/meine-ip-adresse/
This address is usually given by your ISP and usually not static, has
to be checked every time you want to host and to be re-entered by
the client

- host and client must run the same version of BMS

- host and client must select/run the same theatre

- host and client should uncheck the IVC boxes first to
take IVC out of the way

- the Windows firewalls must allow the external/public comms for Falcon BMS,
it is ok to disable firewalls for a connection test, but don't forget to re-enable

Hope this helps. If still no joy, install "wireshark" to sniff your network to check
if any network packets from the client arrive at all.

Tunngle is probably a virtual LAN like Hamachi so what happens is you get a virtual adapter with its own IP. The process is exactly identical to connecting the standard way except different IPs are used. The benefit to a virtual LAN is that it negotiates through a NATing firewall. The typical way to route through a NATing firewall is to use port forwarding. In theory the virtual LAN replaces the need to port forward.

If you are hosting, it's exactly the same. To host you "connect to yourself." IP 0.0.0.0 is always you.

If you are a client, it's the same except the destination IP address is the other host's Tunngle IP address. Assuming the host is behind a NATing firewall he's going to have 3 IPs to consider. Here are mine:

Internal IP 10.0.0.6
External IP 67.161.12.14
Virtual IP 25.13.23.222 (Hamachi)

So if I was hosting you would connect to me using my IP, but which? If you were physically in my house connected to my router you would be on the same LAN subnet as me and you would connect to 10.0.0.6. If you were on the Internet and I had my ports forwarded but we were not using a virtual LAN, you would connect to 67.161.12.14. If you were trying to use a virtual LAN connection like Hamachi or Tunngle you would connect to 25.13.23.222.
