Bump for this old topic... got the official version today, and the unofficial version (no Steam on my PC please).
No pictures to add, but it plays really well. Doesn't seem quite as deep as MotoGP (where to master a track, line, brakepoints and shiftpoints takes a week for me). In this I was able to run real physics and real AI and made middle of the pack on my first race. Still a lot of tricks to master.
But don't get me wrong, it's definitly a lot of fun, and to run longer races on the front will require a lot of concentration and skill. The presentation is just great too.
Milestone is really getting good at releasing accessible, decent-looking (high framerate) race games with some depth to them. Now if they managed to add proper wheel support and resolutions other than 16:9 the newest WRC title would also be a must-have.

I bought a Razor High-Quality wired XB360 controller for SBK and MotoGP Games. The normal wireless one from Microsoft has too much deadzone on the sticks to be precise. You are a right that a wheel would feel weird, and that's actually a thing which keeps bringing me back to Motorcycle games. For car racing, I feel a certain "immersion pressure" to use the best and most realistic equipment which I don't want to afford at the moment, and don't want to set up permanently either. I have a decent wheel, but for stuff like Rfactor2 it can never be perfect enough, which is a bit of immersion breaker, and it takes time to mount/unmount. With a Bike title on the other hand, I have a much easier time "abstracting" my control inputs, I can be going in seconds by just plugging in the controller. While the rider input is abstracted, the racing tactics are fully present both for road circuit and dirt. Another thing is that I might be going for a living room TV + Power Laptop + Controller setup for my future gaming, so racing on a controller is a big plus for me but I just can't with cars... BTW, my review of MotoGP13 is here, the two titles IMHO go well togehter on a hard disk. http://simhqmotorsports.com/motogp13/I love that Milestone keeps their titles so similar in all full features... you always have two or more classes to pick from, you have instant (no BS unlocking) "ride as you like" from time trial to full race weekends, the details for the sports are correct (qualifying rules etc.), everything is fully licensed... and you have the career mode too. Of course simulation-wise there's better physics in other titles, but for example RF2 hardly gives me an incentive to keep racing short of just improving my own laptimes.

Thanks, I agree completely Milestone have been putting out some good titles lately, some of their older stuff was a bit dodgy but they've really upped their game. Only thing that really needs improvement is the AI, they give a good challenge but they don't quite look convincing in their riding styles.
