I got mine a couple days ago and was absolutely blown away. Give it a couple years and this will be the way to go for any type of simming...

Canada, eh!
So, I have a question. I can see my DK2 in the nvidia control panel/set up multiple displays, but I cannot do a thing to control it. I cannot change refresh or anything.

Ideas?

The system does output to it though if I try a demo... I just can't tweak it at all.

nope,

Samsung has a 4K screen and OR Devs know resolution is the main flaw.

Even Samsung's version is listed as Beta, and not the final product.

I managed to fly pretty successfully this weekend although what I managed to record could have gone better. I think a lot of my complaints about the resolution are starting to go away as my mind adjusts to being able to see the pixels. Don't get me wrong, it is still not enough resolution, but I had a good time none the less.

Has anybody been able to successfully zoom the view in? I think a toggleable "binocular view" would do wonders but can't make anything work.

my rig

took all Saturday to set it up and get my desk out the door, from around 11 to 9pm, hugely impressive seating. the head for the dk2 and headphones is from Hungary cost around $140 which just under half of that for postage. 7.1 true razor headphones off a asus solo 7.1 card.

Next on the list end of month once I recover from the amount of money this has cost is to get a ButtKicker and set up simvibe and also get a t500 rs with shifter, then I think Im about done other than wanting to down scale my 4k to 3x 24" IPS panels, I have the triple screen mounts folded behind the screen.

It has taken a lot of over time and hard work to get this together but I am truly totally in game once I fire up war thunder or elite.

I basically have one of the best VR pods for gaming on earth and Im ready to drink some beer and test out my flying skills every evening now. I was actually just practising spin recovery in a spitfire, back on stick opposite lock on rudder, forward on stick, still some spins cant be recovered I am finding.

Hugely impressive game play like nothing the old school here can imagin or dream of.
Like really being in the cockpit, fluid totally fluid, 780ti rips through it completely 75fps no issue at all war thunder on complete max even clouds on movie, the rift screen is only 1920x1080 which the 780ti is over kill for.

I really like playing war thunder, I have upgraded to realistic mode but don't understand why I only get to fly out once then I need to go back to the hanger.

If you can get a Dk2 get it, sell items not required around the house if you need to, its like nothing else.

Is the piano and mic there so Elton John can sing a ballad about your flight in real time? smile

I actually used mostly DK1, but I tested the Oculus Rift with DCS and I thought I'd write about it on the simulator forums I frequent (since I was really curious about reading about OR myself earlier), but it ended up becoming a pretty major story so I turned it into a blog post. If you're interested in my experiences with the device and my infinitely wise assessment of its potential, check out this post: http://anttiilomaki.wordpress.com/2014/0...-since-trackir/
