Yeah, I signed up for the beta a while back. Looks like fun to me.

No thanks.
Looks like another spin off of War Thunder / World of Tanks.
Edit - why is this in the Armor Simulations subforum? :-)

I could really go for this - over having lighted tapers inserted under my fingernails.
Good-looking certainly and fun, maybe, if stuff like WoT/WT floats your boat (inapt metaphor, I know). And if you like your tanks to perform like beach buggies. But a tank sim, it's absolutely not, even by OFP standards. Pity.
I don't much like the "tanksim wrapped inside a 'strategy' game" approach of SABOW and the post-WW2 era could do with a new tanksim, one that's as mod-able as Steel Fury or Panzer Elite and with even a half-decent single player campaign. Oh well, back to waiting.

I normally don't go for MMO type games but this really does look amazing. The maps the damage model. going to sign up for it. Just wish some developer could make a Armour simulation with the accuracy of SB and the graphics of AW.

And on that day I will wake up with a 12 inch p***s

I'm not sure where else I would put it? This seemed the place as it already contained WoT and WT posts.

a new tanksim, one that's as mod-able as Steel Fury or Panzer Elite and with even a half-decent single player campaign. Oh well, back to waiting. Or you could purchase Iron Front and play that now that it has been ported to Arma2CO and currently being worked on for Arma3. It still retains it's penetration and damage model and it is definitely worth a look. You can even use this website to construct your own single or multiplayer campaign. http://www.plannedassault.com/about/337267584

IFL44 + D-Day mod is definitely on the to-buy list as (despite some poor reviews) it looks like a decent WW2 shooter and a reasonable 'sim lite' tanksim, for a single-player only type like me. I had seen Planned Assault and Cold War British Army with SLRs, '58 Pattern webbing, 432s and Chieftains is a sim dream come true for me... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMsHXaFhxbk...tho I only have base ARMA2 + the British Forces expansion so expect I'd need to invest in combined Ops to get the benefit of the port.

Not much of a chieftain model in the vid. Didn't have engine or gear failure after driving for a 100 yards. ;-) Also smoothbore ammo? M1 style stadia lines? c'mon

Will that one be a Free to play thingy?
If yes, I may have alook at it... Yes its free to play. The Beta is due out the first quarter of this year if there still on target for the release. The terrain looks great and destructible. SB it will never be, but like I stated some times you just want to blow #%&*$# up.LoL You have to sign up for the Beta first though. Link http://aw.my.com/us?lang=en_US

I'm not familiar with stuff that Obsidian have done but this looks like it may take me away from WoT and WT.
I hope I'm picked to play the tech beta but I doubt it.

That's no different to WoT or War Thunder,at least in arcade battles which is all I play.
What we don't know yet is how Armoured Warfare handles the match-making.

I signed up a while ago.
Did they reach the Beta state?
They must have something better than WOT, otherwise very few people would buy it.

There's a closed beta shortly, not too sure when the open beta starts.
It sounds as though there will be some sort of role-playing element (Obsidian Entertainment) but not too sure how this is implemented. Have a look at the vid I posted on page 2.
There is no tech tree as in WoT and WT,instead you get packages from arms dealers (explained in video). Also it has a heavy PVE element.

Thank you Chucky.
Interesting video.
I am surprised by the amount of time, the video voice over was mentioning WOT and WT and how different this game is from the competition.
Yet, I haven't seen any tank interior, and I still don't know if is it an arcade game like WOT?...A tactical Arcade like WT?...
I guess we will see!

I doubt that there will be any interiors, that's not how these games work.WoT and WT have proven that. These are all arcade/tactical games with 'realistic' elements. I can live with that for the sake of game-play.
If I need to get serious I can fire up SB Pro or SABOW.
As you say, time will tell but judging by the massive numbers that applied for the beta, people can't get enough of this style of game.I'm also guessing that if a Dev team get it right there is BIG money to be earned.
EV's are the Devils matchbox.
