Lately I have been having issues with escort missions but I don't know if the planes are behaving as modeled.First I tried to remove any crutches so I deleted the map key and also the label type toggle so its stuck on label dots only.First escort mission and I searched and searched for the planes but never found them.Second time I reinstalled the key to toggle identity labels and I did find the planes but then found they circled and circled for like 10 minutes and I gave up.3rd time I found them and the same thing where they circled and circled until I ran low on fuel at which point they seemed to be headed for objective though not really sure.Anyone know what is going on?Are they climbing to altitude?I just couldn't tell if they were.

Now a wish that will most likely be denied.Is it possible to have the planes you are escorting to be circling right above your airfield and at altitude already?I would love that that they shoot a flare to signal they are the squad you are tasked with escorting but if they are right above your field I think this is enough to verify with certainty.

The 2 seaters are working fine, you just need to get close etc. Labels on will help yes. 10 minutes is a tiny amount of time, yes sometimes they may want to climb but normally they are above your field when you take off and if you follow the waypoints you meet up on the way.

Yes like in real life if you play full real you may lose them or not find them, happened lots for real in the war - with no air to air radios etc easy. Firing flares maybe OK but often it could give position away so not always a good idea. Yyou can put wish list items into the wish list thread.

My observations with Kasta 18 and KEK Nord were, that the escort is always flying to
and waiting at one waypoint after the climbing-to-alt waypoint of my unit.
So if you climb to altitude at waypoint 1, and then proceed to waypoint 2, they should be there.

But - when the climbing took us too long, they sometimes had decided to travel back home,
and we had no escort.
