Greetings Commanders!

To assist new Sim HQ players against the credit grind and in celebration of the Labor day weekend here in North America, I will be flying my Anaconda through the main Fed systems (Aulin, iBootis, Asellus Primus, LHS 3262) this Saturday afternoon (EST) and will give out free cargo to the first three players who respond to this thread to the tune of ~100,000 credits each.

So if you are stuck in that Sidewinder through some misfortune and not enjoying that credit grind, now is the time to speak up and take some of the "labor" out of your weekend. cheers

- Cmdr Rook

Cool gesture, not sure I can hook up but if it was able to happen I'd be in for a bit of this action

I would love to hook up and get in on this. I'll have to jump on TS. I have a shuttle but the grind just kind of got old. Without mining cargo running gets stale fast.

Regarding the name - I was in on the original Kickstarter and at some point they sent me an email to register my pilot name... I'm not sure how it is currently done.

So the plan for tomorrow is I will be flying around between 1 and 5pm EST. You'll need to send a friend request in-game so I can find you and I'll also get on the SimHQ teamspeak so we can co-ordinate. First come, first serve - 300,000 credits up for grabs - no strings!

Thanks Rook. Learned a lot tonight. Didn't mind being the guinea pig smile We now know that the Federation considers dropped cargo to be stolen regardless of whether its intentional or not. Also learned a lot about lowering your heat signature to sneak into starports. Might be a career in piracy for me after all smile

Also SimHQ'ers

Yeah, it went OK - I'm pleased to report Master is probably off enjoying his new Cobra as I type. No real run ins with pirates during the exchanges but there were some interesting encounters nonetheless.

Isn't that the one right in the middle? That one's my favorite. I hate the ones immediately below the docking port. It's real easy to get collected by an AI hauler or Anaconda when you're spinning around like a tool right in front of the opening trying to find your berth.

Of course, I haven't had a go with any smuggling yet (waiting on this 401 sync problem to get sorted), so when I do I may just cancel my request and resubmit if I see 13 pop up. I suppose it's probably in the best interest of a good smuggler to have all the pad positions memorized so you can cherry pick one with a nice straight and fast approach. A nice one at the back would be good, where you can cut your engines and coast in. On a related note, I really hope in a future version they add a control binding for directly shutting off your drive among others. I'm in the process of coming up with a Helios touchscreen "glass cockpit" interface, and there are so many controls I'd like to add but that lack bindings. The cockpit panel menus are just too cumbersome to use quickly with a TrackIR.

Aero, I ran into a bug on that pad. When trying to dock, it would not allow me to do so until I turned 180 degrees towards the exit. Usually you land with the exit behind you. Read that this was a bug.

Also, Rook, were you aware I was behind you the other night when you were entering a port? I saw an Anaconda and scanned it and low and behold it was you. Small universe I guess smile

Ah, I've had that happen a couple times. Since it takes about 30 seconds to rotate 180 degrees at zero velocity, I can see why that would be a problem if you're in a hurry. wink

Go to game support https://support.orerve.net/http/ed/knowledgebase

log in using your account details and go to commander profile. Fairly self explanatory from that point.

It is faster to flip and roll generally.

Ah, hadn't thought of that, thanks. Stupid six degrees of freedom making me think. I was so confused the first time it happened (even though I'd read about it and knew what the deal was).

Or there's also the back thrust button to be set. wink Saved my skin quite.
I've mapped Forward and Rear Thrust to the China hat switch on the 'Hawg Inboard Throttle.

Thrust? You can put you main engines in reverse with the press of a key. Gives you about 10x the reverse power as thusters do. (if you are in an emergency that is.)

Yep, but with small impulses works great for "reverse gear".
