In my continued work to make 1.40 versions of older scenarios I have just uploaded "SAW140.exe" to OneDrive.
Run in your EAW140 folder the 7-zip will create a "SAW_Planes" folder, a "SAW140" folder and a "DirSets" folder containing the "SAW140" Dir.set file. When prompted let this folder merge with your existing one smile

I could not generate the error, but I think I know the cause.

Do you have Moggy's Middle East installed?
If not you may not have replaced the previous "Planes-IRAQ" folder, if you had one in the first place.

There is a dummy plane, no skin, no country and never flyable in the skin and FM folders for it.

I use it when there are not enough planes available to make a full set of 30.
It never appears for selection

All the folders referenced in Planeset 1 in slots 0 to 28 are from the SAW_Planes folder.
However, slot 29 references the Dummy folders in the "Planes_IRAQ" folder. Originally slot29 contained a V1 as all early versions of EAW scenarios did.
However, if you do not have the "Planes_IRAQ\FMs\Dummy" folder it cannot load the files from it and the error message you received will be generated.

The files you need are at OneDrive.

That's it. I had MMe140 actually not installed, the campaign is now running. Thanks for the instructions.

I just found another "bug".
In the SAW140\DATA folder there is a "MSNNAME.STR" file which has the mission type strings.
This is the pre-140 version with only five mission types and it will cause a CTD in single mission mode when you scroll through the types.
If you delete this file the exe will use the one in the DATA.CDF which has the six types that the exe needs including the "Torpedo strike".
It does not affect multiplayer, which uses a different file, or careers, which do not allow a torpedo strike mission.

EDIT:
You could also delete "radiotxt.str" from the same folder, especially if you are flying online and prefer your "Autoclimb on" and "Autoclimb off" notices.

With the original SAW several minipics were missing, and a couple seem to show the wrong aircraft. I had a look on the 'net today and was able to find some pics which could be converted into minipics for SAW, to complete the set.
I have not yet uploaded them to OneDrive yet but here are four of the new ones, setting up a mission if a Bristol Bulldog:

I'll just throw in that I made a hi-res He112B a while ago for this scenario. Not sure if it's been included but I see it is a selectable plane in your screen shot.

I have an SAW skin too, just no screenshot.

Let me know if you guys want it.

ShoGun found a CTD with both the 109B and the 109D flying offline.
In both cases it was a missing TPC file, which occurred as a result of the original skins referencing TPCs from more than one slot frown

The problem is fixed. There is a "SAW109Skins" 7-zip file which will generate the two folders ("SAWBf 109B-2" and "SAWBf 109D-1") to replace the originals in the "SAW_Planes\Skins" folder.

Ray I think you have my email address (which has not changed for 14 years) so zip them and send as an attachment.

Thanks

Tony

Yeah, tried to find it but to no avail. Send me a blank e-mail and I'll send the zip file back.

Good question wink

I did a 140 conversion of your SAW one, and also used the VCG converter to modify your old 276 byte file to the 936 byte version which we have used for a while after Crashin' Jack added extra gauges to the EAW source code.

The new and the old in SAW140

Thanks

And I thought I'd never see this particular model in action.

Thanks.

Now you have to get on Moggy to finish up Dunkirk. There are a bunch of never before seen models in that scenario.

Hi Ray,

I don't suppose the "new aircraft not seen before" includes the Hampden?

Peter I am shoveling coal on this one. You have to talk to the captain.
